Lauterbrunnen Switzerland 4-day travel plan 🏔️✨

Since this trip was intended to travel on the Germany-Strasbourg/Colmar route and since we were already stopping by this area, we planned to go a little further south to visit Switzerland as well. This trip was a short 4 days 3 nights trip. If anyone wants to visit many countries, we recommend this route. You can visit Germany, France, and Switzerland, all 3 countries. Day 1: Strasbourg - Basel - Those who stay in Strasbourg/Colmar can take the train to Basel directly. Or if anyone has a Deustchland Ticket, you can take it back to Offenburg/Freiburg and there will be a train to Basel as well. - We stayed at Visionapartments Basel, which is an online check-in. They will send you the entrance code and room code. It is quite convenient and the room is minimalist. There is a kitchen for cooking, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a shared kitchen. It is quite convenient. It is only a 10-minute walk from the train station. The room price is good too. However, since some rooms are on the road, there will be some noise from outside. - If you stay in Basel, you will receive an email with a discount for museum admission or free train rides in the city. (We saw the email almost the last day, so we only got to take the free train.) - Since the first day we arrived was quite cold and rainy, we just went shopping and cooked dinner in the room. Across from the station, there are fast food restaurants and supermarkets, very convenient. Or if you still have energy, you can take the tram into the city. Day 2: Basel Day Trip (Basler Münster/Old Town/Museum) - Basler Münster is an old church in the city with a view of the Rhein River. Behind it, you can see the view on the other side. You can go up to see the view from the top, but there is a small entrance fee. - Altstadt Kleinbasel/ Altstadt Grossbasel in the city has the old town, restaurants, and shopping streets. You can take the tram to get there. - Basel can be considered a city of museums, whether it is art/science/design/show. Art lovers must not miss it. - Museum Tinguely is a museum about the work of Jean Tinguely, which is kinetic art, and has a large collection of works. Day 3: Lauterbrunnen - Interlanken - In October, the weather is still quite changeable, sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunny. So we didn't plan exactly. We focused on the weather forecast. If it was sunny, we would go to Lauterbrunnen that day. The disadvantage of waiting for the weather is that the train tickets are quite expensive because we calculated that buying a pass is not worth it (round trip, 3,500 baht per person). But if you plan to stay long-term, buying a pass is more worth it. - First, we took the Bern-Internlaken route, changed trains to Lauterbrunnen (travel time about 2 hours). The train to Lauterbrunnen was very crowded. It was a short train, very crowded, no seats, and took about 15-20 minutes. - I must say that we didn't read any reviews. We focused on seeing it with our own eyes. However, we were still a bit confused about this town because the village was much smaller than we thought. However, we got to enjoy nature and the waterfall from the mountain. We could walk all the way and walk up to see the waterfall, but the path was steep and a bit wet, so we had to be careful. - We spent half a day walking. We still didn't find the photo spot we were looking for, so we gave up and walked back. But then we saw a Chinese tour group walking into a small alley with stairs right in the village. This was the angle we were looking for. It was a view of the mountains, the river, and if I remember correctly, there was a church. I regretted that it was quite cold when we went and the sun was blocked by the mountain, but it was better than nothing, so we walked across the bridge to the other side. This place is called Staubbachfall Viewpoint. - Since we still had to travel for another 2 hours, we missed the cable car (those who bought the Pass can use it for a discount). We took the train back to Interlaken and stopped for a 1-hour walk. The view of Interlaken Lake is really beautiful. Interlaken is suitable for those who want to visit many cities because it is right in the middle. There will be quite a few tourists. - Since Lauterbrunnen is a small city but there are a lot of tourists, we recommend buying some food to bring with you to eat on the train or find a bench to sit and eat while enjoying the view because the restaurants will be crowded. Day 4: Last Day in Basel - On the return day, we had a little time to buy souvenirs, which were mainly chocolate and some food. We recommend buying them at Super Coop because from walking around the city, there were hardly any souvenir shops, or if there were, they were very expensive. - On the Basel route, you can take a train back to France/Germany or Zurich. Another place I would recommend visiting is Bern, which we did not have time to stop by. But if you take a train through, there are beautiful places that are no less than other cities. #Switzerland #Swiss #TravelSwiss #TravelEuropeByYourself #TravelEuropeByYourself #TravelEurope #TravelPlan #MustGo #switzerland #switzerlandpictures #lauterbrunnen #lauterbrunnenvalley #lauterbrunnen #basel #baselcity #europetrip #europetrip #WhereToTravel #Europe #Europe #TravelPlanShare
