Catholic Church

Originally built in 1898 and known as the "Church of St. Peter and St. Paul," this church was constructed by French Catholic missionaries. Located in the heart of Baoding City, it stands as a quintessential example of Western architecture. Measuring 54.3 meters long, 17.6 meters wide, and 20 meters high, the church is an imposing and elegant structure in the Romanesque style, with a capacity exceeding 1,000 people. Inside, 14 towering red columns support the roof, complemented by 12 meticulously carved white marble columns at the front, symbolizing the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ. Adorning the side walls are 14 exquisite biblical paintings depicting the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus. The expansive dome and open space create a solemn and sacred atmosphere within the church. Whenever the organ plays, ethereal sacred music resonates throughout the entire space, fostering a deeply reverent and holy religious ambiance.
