The poems of "Yushu Mingzhi" and the poems of the monarchs and ministers chanting and chanting the lotus pond on the spot when Qianlong and Jiaqing summoned the governor of Zhili are still inscribed on the steles in the garden. The ancient lotus pond was built at the turn of the Jin and Yuan dynasties (1227), originally named "Xue Xiang Yuan", a private garden. In the Ming Dynasty, it was an official garden. Because of the lush lotus in the pool, it was called "Ancient Lotus Pond", also known as "Shuijian Public House". In the eleventh year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1733), Lianchi Academy was built. In the tenth year of Qianlong (1745), the governor of Zhili, Fang Guancheng, built the emperor's palace. In the fourteenth year (1749), pavilions, terraces, pavilions, and pavilions were added to form twelve scenes, known as "Urban Penglai". . In October 1900, the Allied Forces of Britain, France, Germany, and Italy invaded Baoding, looted the precious cultural relics in the garden, and turned the pavilions, terraces, pavilions, and pavilions into ashes.
