Banteay Chhmar

Banchay Chma is a large stone temple in Banteay Meanchey province, northwest of Cambodia, near the Thai border. It is one of the important Khmer archaeological sites but is still not widely known. The temple was built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII to dedicate to his son. It is similar to the Bayon temple and has four faces of the Bodhisattva Lokesvara carved into the doorways. The highlight of Banchay Chma is the beautiful bas-relief carvings along the corridors, such as war scenes, processions, and images of villagers' daily lives. Although some parts are crumbling, they still maintain their sacredness and tranquility, making them a suitable place for cultural visits. #TravelWithFreeVisa
