Largest Reclining Buddha Statue at Wat Pho

Wat Pho (also known as Wat Phra Chetuphon) is one of the places you can visit along the Chao Phraya river on Bangkok, apart from The Grand Palace obviously. You can take metro there, but taking the riverboat actually adds on the experience! You can enjoy a beautiful view from the river. This temple is built in 17th Century, that makes it the oldest (and apparently also the largest) temple in Bangkok. One of the main reason to get there is to see The Reclining Buddha statue that fills up the whole building. It measures about 45m (150ft) long, and 15m (50ft) high. Then you can continue your visit admiring all the beautiful and intricate murals and statues around the temple area. Tips: if possible, plan your day when it is no extremely hot outside as the area is mostly open-space to ensure a comfortable trip. Wat Pho opens daily from 8am to 6:30pm.
