Ong Ang Canal Street Art, Bangkok

#gooutside - Walk and Discover Fascinating Street Art Location : Ong Ang Canal Walking Street, Samphanthawong, 10100 Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok, in addition to fabulous art and craft shopping and yummy local street food, is also a vibrant city filled with fascinating wall murals / graffiti / street art too ! We will uncover some of them at the Ong Ang Canal Walking Street. Essentially, the murals on both sides of the canal reflects the daily activities that characterize the old neighbourhood mix of local Thai, Chinese and Indian communities that the canal passes through. The aim of the street art here is to turn the canal area into a new hotspot for tourism and leisure. To get there, simply take the MRT to Sam Yot MRT Station and walk for about 50 metres. The walking street stretches for around 800 metres from Dum Rong Sathit Bridge to Panupan Bridge on both sides of the canal. Stroll along the canal to see murals by Alex Face, Pakorn & Asin, Bigdel, Mauy & MSV, Joker EB and other local Thai artists. Have fun checking out the various wall murals ! Remember to wear appropriate footwear and light attire. Bring along sunglasses / cap and be sure to keep yourself properly hydrated. #urbanexplorer #hellobangkok

The Naval Museum in Bangkok can only be described as a weird, hidden and interesting spot. Definitely one of the more wacky places Ive been. Strangely enough it’s really easy to get here, so I have no idea why it is so quiet. It is right outside the Royal Thai Naval Academy BTS station. The grounds have some planes and tanks, which make for an interesting pic, and they have a running track all around which I guess is for active naval personnel. Inside there are several buildings and rooms you can explore. You get an informational pamphlet too which explains the different rooms. Some examples are the gun room, mannequins and uniforms, wooden models of past boats/vessels. It’s a little far out from the city center, but if you are going to be around that area then I think it’s worth an hour of your time. WANT TO GO? 95 Sukhumvit Rd, Pak Nam, Mueang Samut Prakan District, Samut Prakan 10270 Thai Royal Naval Academy BTS station 8.30-3.30 daily FREE ENTRY Please check out my IG @ wanderlust_welshman #passionpassport#staycation#gooutside#urbanexplorer#summervacation#awesomepic#givethanks
