Fortunately, the fee is a very reasonable 60 baht, and it’s worth it just to be able to take photos inside. I vaguely heard the word "victoria" and it turned out to be a Victorian-style building. No wonder it gave me the illusion of Europe. King Rama VI of Thailand really went to the UK to study, so he also brought back British-style architectural features. The reason why there are so many rings in Tainan is because urban planning officials during the Japanese colonial period were shocked by the radial rings in Italy after visiting Europe, and they wanted to imitate them. All roads lead to Rome. The main building of the palace has three floors, with reception on the first floor, offices on the second floor, and sleeping quarters on the third floor. On the second floor of the main building, there is a European-style corridor connecting the left and right annexes, as well as the palace's standard garden pool, rest cabin, bell tower, and temple-like Roman arch columns. Although compared with the genuine royal palaces in Europe, the level of luxury and magnificence is obviously inferior, but the essential details have been learned, and some local elements of Thailand have been incorporated. The visibility and richness are really enough. But the threshold is relatively high because I can’t understand the Thai tour guide and it takes two hours. It is recommended for travelers who have leisure time and time to travel slowly. Otherwise, go to Café Narasingh, which is also part of Phaya Thai Palace, for coffee.
