Wat Phra Ram 9 Kanchanaphisek: A Royal Temple of the Ninth Reign

🏠 Wat Phra Ram 9 Kanchanaphisek is a royal temple of the ninth reign. His Majesty the King ordered its construction as a small, simple temple focusing on maximum utility to serve as a spiritual center for the people, embodying the three pillars of home, temple, and school, known as 'Bovorn.' It was built in 1995. 🏞 In 1988, His Majesty initiated a project to solve the problem of polluted water by aerating Bueng Phra Ram 9, a property of the Crown Property Bureau. 🌄 The area was improved to develop the community around Bueng Phra Ram 9, establishing the temple under the Chai Pattana Foundation to serve as a Buddhist site for monastic activities and a spiritual center for the people to engage in various activities together. 🙏 Wat Phra Ram 9 Kanchanaphisek was specially elevated to a third-class royal temple in 1999. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The Ubosot, housing the principal Buddha image, Phra Buddha Kanchanathamsathit, in the Mara Vichaya posture, designed by Air Marshal Arwut Ngernchuklin, an architect from the Fine Arts Department. 🙏 This principal Buddha image features Rattanakosin-style characteristics, made of brass mixed with gold, blending idealism and realism. The robe is realistically draped like a monk's, but the hair is idealized.
