Bangkok, Thailand

#100waysoftravel #bangkok #thailand Bangkok was known as a small trading center and port community on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River about 200 years ago. Today, although it can be called a modern city that is very up to date, the grandeur and luxury of its past history are still very much felt. Start your journey by visiting Wat Arun or commonly known by Bangkok residents as Wat Chaeng. Located west of Thonburi on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. This is one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok, not only because of its location on the riverbank, but also because its design is very different from other temples. Wat Arun (temple of dawn) consists partly of colorful towers that stand majestically on the water. Don't forget to stop by the Grand Palace & Wat Prakeaw. The floating market in Damnoen Saduak is one of the spots that you must visit. Various types of food are sold here; from fresh tropical fruits and vegetables, ready-to-drink coconut water and local food cooked from a floating kitchen directly on the boat! Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the must-visit places for those of you who like shopping. This market houses more than 8,000 small stalls. On weekends, more than 200,000 visitors come here to shop. Tired of walking all day, don't forget to taste Pad Thai, Tom Yum, or the typical Thai dessert: Mango with Sticky Rice.
