Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Glowing Jewel BKK
I would say this is by far almost every tourist will go to place and it’s significantly more beautiful when you travel during sunset which is around 6.30pm depends on when you go. 🌅 Its distinctive spires, adorned with colorful porcelain, rise majestically against the skyline, making it one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. 😍
Getting There - Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is a stunning Buddhist temple located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. I travel there via ferry taken opposite of Wat Arun Temple and it cost around 16 Thai baht.

Stop going into the Zheng Wang Temple, the best spot is actually across the river!
🏛️ Zheng Wang Temple, also known as Wat Arun, is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok and is a famous royal temple in Thailand. It is a landmark building in Bangkok and a popular spot for social media check-ins.
⭐ The architecture is very distinctive, with a representative central tower that is 75 meters tall, surrounded by a cluster of smaller towers, adorned with carvings of animals and deities. You can climb the tower for a closer look; it's incredibly exquisite and ornate. The tower is also inlaid with colorful ceramic tiles and glass beads, which are said to be imported from China.
👉🏾 Wat Arun is not very large, mainly consisting of this group of towers. You can take a leisurely look and finish the tour in less than an hour.
📸 The temple is very crowded with tourists from all over the world, many of whom rent Thai costumes for photoshoots. It's very noisy, and it's difficult to take pictures with few people and good views. Moreover, the building itself is too ornate, which is not suitable for portrait photography. The best shooting location is across the river.
🚢 Recommended route:
1⃣️ To get to Wat Arun: It is recommended to take a boat along the Chao Phraya River. You can take a sightseeing boat from either the Iconsiam or Chinatown piers to Wat Arun, enjoying the scenery of the Chao Phraya River along the way. I don't quite remember the price of the boat ticket, but it seems to be 20฿.
📌 If you are very interested in the architecture of Wat Arun, you can go inside for a visit.
🈺 Opening hours: 9:00-17:00
🎫 Admission: 50฿
2⃣️ Take a cross-river ferry at the pier, the ticket costs 5฿, and when you reach the opposite side of the river, there are many cafes, pubs, and restaurants. It is recommended to order some food and drinks and wait for sunset. When it's not completely dark, Wat Arun will light up, and that's the best time to see it.
Practical Guide for Traveling in Bangkok
Play:

These three attractions are close to each other and worth visiting.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Boat tour on the Chao Phraya River
You can get to many attractions by boat from Icon Siam, including Chinatown, Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and Khao San Road night market. The boat ticket is only 30 Thai baht, equivalent to 6 RMB. Highly recommended.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Wat Traimit
A huge seated Buddha, very impressive, but you need to find a good shooting position.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Khao San Road night market
A tourist gathering area, similar to the ancient city pedestrian streets in China. Very lively.
Eat:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Jae Ngor's Kitchen
The curry crab is a must-try, and other dishes are also good. Highly recommended.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Icon Siam
A new landmark shopping center in Bangkok, a gathering place for luxury goods. The G floor has an indoor food street market, very lively.
Indoor Transportation
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Subway
The subway is the first choice for going out, which is more convenient, but you need to recharge.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Chartered travel
A small car costs 1800-2200 Thai baht per day for 10 hours.
⭐️⭐️⭐️Taxi
Bangkok is very congested, it is recommended to use Bolt, Grab taxi app. It's a bit expensive.
For these nine pictures, a college student went to Thailand alone
Recently, Thailand has been visa-free, so I found a weekend plus Monday to take a short vacation for a few days.
Although it's only three days, I took a lot of satisfactory photos. Bangkok is a crazy and interesting city
The Buddha statues all over the street, the friendly locals, the backpackers of different skin colors, and the terrible traffic are the impressions Bangkok left me.
Share the locations of these 9 pictures to facilitate everyone to check in
1⃣️Lad ya 8: The classic position of the Big Buddha in the Water Gate Temple, with a strong visual shock. A few years ago, I was full of longing for Bangkok because of this scene. Now I finally realized my wish to check in here. (200mm lens + cropping)
2⃣️Oppsite Bangkok Polytechnic College: Locate this bus station, you can take a picture of the big swing, with a small aperture and a large depth of field, to fully reflect the messy wires and crowded traffic in Bangkok.
3⃣️Bamrung Mueang Rd: A small road full of Buddha statues for sale, which looks very interesting, can be checked in with 2⃣️
4⃣️5⃣️Golden Mountain Temple: A relatively niche temple, almost no one, picture four is in the temple at the foot of the mountain, picture five is overlooking the whole city of Bangkok after climbing the golden mountain, you can see the famous Zheng Wang Temple. Can be checked in with 2⃣️3⃣️.
6⃣️Mahathat Temple: The treasure city around Bangkok, the big city government, the most famous is the scene of the tree hugging Buddha's head (specific strategies can be seen in the previous article)
7⃣️Chinatown: The signs in Chinatown are colorful and very beautiful, and there are many street foods worth trying, but it seems that there is some festival recently, and many banners have been hung
8⃣️Japan Street: Locate to thaniya, the neon lights all over the street are very beautiful for taking pictures, as if you are in the streets of Japan, there are some adult projects soliciting customers on the roadside, and I dare not take pictures..
9⃣️Zheng Wang Temple: My favorite one among all the temples in Bangkok, the white pagoda is very different, and it has a dreamy feeling

Admirable National treasure of Thailand 🇹🇭
#cherryblossom2024
The most revered national treasure of Thailand is the Jade Buddha statue in the Grand Palace. 🛕
Visit The Grand Palace. The most worth seeing is the emerald green jade Buddha statue in the Jade Buddha Hall, which is 66cm high. A total of three sets of clothing were customized for the Jade Buddha. In February, they wore cool clothing and golden thread clothing draped over the Buddha's body.
Photography 📸 is not allowed inside the main hall. You can sit down and worship the Buddha, but your toes should not be facing the Buddha statue.🌸
The exterior walls of the main hall are covered with stained glass panels, shining brightly in the sunlight. The porcelain pieces come from Jingdezhen, China. Many of the porcelain pieces inlaid on the exterior of buildings were shipped from China and were broken during long-dist ance transportation. To avoid waste, they were used as decorations in the form of broken porcelain pieces.
The corridor is filled with gold leaf paintings 🖼️ , depicting the complex story of the king reclaiming the beautiful queen 🫅 from the hands of demons.

The most intuitive place to feel the wealth of the Thai royal family is the Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is the palace of the Thai royal family. It was built in 1782 and has been expanded and renovated by generations of kings to its current scale. The Grand Palace has obvious Siamese architectural features, it is magnificent and has national characteristics, and it is called the 'encyclopedia of Thai art'.
In 1992, the Thai government funded the construction of the Thai Buddha Garden in Luoyang White Horse Temple, which is a condensed essence of Thai architecture represented by the Bangkok Grand Palace.
The Grand Palace covers a huge area and includes two parts for touring: the Jade Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace. The tourist entrance is at the Jade Buddha Temple.
🇹🇭Jade Buddha Temple
Named after the jade Buddha enshrined in the temple, the temple is located in the northeast corner of the Grand Palace, about a quarter of the size of the Grand Palace. It is one of the three national treasures of Thailand, the guardian temple of the Chakri Dynasty, and the national temple.
The jade Buddha is enshrined in the main hall, it is carved from real jade, 66 cm high and 48 cm wide. It was a treasure that was fought over by many countries. After being discovered in Chiang Rai in 1434, it has been enshrined in the Jade Buddha Temple.
There are seven pairs of fairy statues on the high platform of the Jade Buddha Temple. The upper body of the lioness fairy is a woman, and the lower body is a lion; the upper body of the golden Nara is a man, and the lower body is a bird.
Each door in the temple has a six-meter-high guardian Yaksha, holding a Dharma sword, which is very spectacular.
There are also three pagodas to the north of the main hall: a pure Thai-style scripture library, a Sri Lankan-style golden relic pagoda, and a royal ancestral temple built by Rama IV.
The model of Angkor Wat is a collection of Rama III, and you can still see the appearance of Angkor Wat when it was complete from this huge model.
There are 178 paintings in the corridor of the Jade Buddha Temple, which were painted during the period of Rama I, telling a mythological story of good people defeating bad people.
🇹🇭Grand Palace
The main building is four palaces, with the roof in the Thai characteristic three-top structure, lined up in a row, with green ceramic tile ridges, purple and red glazed tile roofs, and pointed phoenix head flying eaves. But these main buildings are not open to the public.
Chakri Palace is the largest main hall in the Grand Palace, with three floors, built by Rama V in 1876. The initial design was a Western-style building, but because it felt a bit abrupt among a group of Thai buildings, a traditional Thai roof was added later.
🇹🇭Grand Palace (The Grand Palace)
Address: Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon Bangkok 10200
Opening hours: 8:30-15:30
Ticket: 500 baht/person (cash or card can be used)
The dress code in the Grand Palace is strict, please be sure to comply
Do not hire wild tour guides at the door, easy to be deceived
Photography is prohibited in the main hall, and you need to take off your shoes and hats when entering

This is one of Bangkok's most luxurious and beautiful malls I have seen. The sixth floor is truly amazing with the natural elements and waterfall display. You should also check out the bar on the balcony and don't forget the floating market on the lower floor.
This mall will leave you stunned.
You can reach iconsiam using the BTS (hop off at Saphan Taksim) and then get on a boat ride across Chao Priya River. The long tail shuttle boat only costs 10 baht per person.

Magical Bangkok: The more you play in Thailand, the happier you get
How to experience the classic and relaxed in Bangkok city, see how we play for a full day.
Visiting Bangkok, Thailand for blessings, if you don't go to the Grand Palace and the Jade Buddha Temple, you really haven't experienced the essence of this country. The Grand Palace, which has not been open for 3 years, we caught up this time and once again appreciated the beautiful scenery of the Grand Palace under the warm sunset.
The Grand Palace ticket is 500 baht per person. The Grand Palace is a symbol of the Bangkok dynasty. The architecture blends Thai and European styles. Brilliant and gorgeous, Bangkok is known as the "City of Angels" and the Grand Palace is the "Heavenly Palace" of Bangkok.
The Jade Buddha Temple is in the Grand Palace, where the national treasure of Thailand is stored. The Jade Buddha has three cassocks, and the King of Thailand will come to change it personally when the season changes in Thailand. What you see now is the winter cassock. They are all made of pure gold, gorgeous.
Free visa to Thailand for the 2024 New Year, the carnival activities have also kicked off!
The moon is full, the new year is here, everything is just right! 🙏
We were honored to visit the Queen Sirikit Textile Museum next to the Grand Palace, which is a rare museum open to the public, and we have learned a lot!
Riding a special tuk-tuk to enjoy the city scenery of the Rattanakosin Peninsula in Bangkok is also a must. You must experience the wind and electricity scene full of unconverted gasoline smell when you visit Bangkok.
Of course, the Four-faced Buddha must go to pray and worship, and by the way, you can visit the Central world, which is known as Asia's No.1, and take pictures with the Christmas tree and Pikachu. It is not an exaggeration to describe it here with a dazzling array of things, but the price is really not cheaper than in China.
Then go for an authentic Thai Spa, relax and relieve fatigue.
We were also fortunate to attend the "Magical Thailand Exclusive Tour" lawn outdoor party at the Siam Museum in Bangkok on the evening of December 26, 2023, organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). We enjoyed the performances of Thai folk dances from different periods, and well-known Thai artists Cai Youfu (Da Wu) and Zheng Naixin performed on stage. The atmosphere is explosive!

Yaowarat in Bangkok
Hello Bangkok and it is a must to visit Yaowarat especially during the evening when all the food stores are open. You can enjoy the street food and have new experiences of dining by the roadside. There are many popular food stalls here and some of them have long queues. It is better you bring cash here for a nicer experience, credit cards are not widely accepted here but you can always use the local method which is to scan code to make payment. Come over here and in all the local vibes.

This place only starts bustling from 7pm onwards where one section of Yaowarat Road is closed for the street food stalls. Many food delights here such as the Thai style kway chap, dumplings, bird nest dessert and the toasted buns and many more. The toasted buns are one of the hot sellers with many different types of fillings available. Also famous are the few shops selling pork products.
