Wat Chana Songkhram, popular for "winning"

Wat Chana Songkhram faces the edge of Khao San. If you are staying at a hotel in Khao San, it is only a few minutes walk away, but if you are coming from other areas, a taxi is convenient. It is quietly located in the downtown area, but Chana means "to win" and Songkhram means "war", so in Japanese it would be called the "Temple of Victory". It is a popular temple in Thailand, with legends of "victory over difficulties", and many people come to pray from early in the morning hoping to receive blessings. The main hall is decorated with several golden Buddha statues, giving it an atmosphere that seems to be filled with blessings.
