Wat Phichitthayatikaram

Wat Phichaiyatikararam or Wat Phichaiyati is a second-class royal temple of the Worawihan sect[1] under the Mahanikaya sect. It is located at the foot of Phut Bridge, in the area formerly known as Wongwian Lek, in the Somdet Chao Phraya Subdistrict, Khlong San District. It is situated on the bank of the Ban Somdet Chao Phraya Canal, Khlong San District. It was originally an abandoned temple, but Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Phichaiyati (That Bunnag), at the time holding the title of Phraya Si Phiphat Ratchakosa, renovated it around 1829-1832 in the reign of King Rama III because Somdet Chao Phraya Ongklao at that time was the Lord Chamberlain of the Treasury and had a junk trading with China. Therefore, he brought ship's barges, colored tiles, and stones from China. The architecture of this temple is in a Thai-Chinese style, which was the royal preference at that time. After the temple's renovation was complete, it was presented to King Nangklao, Rama III, who bestowed the name "Wat Phraya Yatikaram".
