Wat Chakrawat Ratchawas Worawihan

Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat Wora Maha Wihan (Wat Sampluem), Samphanthawong District, Bangkok Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat Wora Maha Wihan or Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat was originally a temple of the people called Wat Nang Pluem, built in the Ayutthaya period. Later, in the Rattanakosin period, it was called Wat Sampluem. It is assumed that it came from three women who built it together and may have been because it was near Sampeng or Sampeng, similar to Wat Sam Chin or Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan, which are nearby. Chao Phraya Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni) renovated the entire temple around 1819 and gave it to King Nang Klao to accept as a royal temple and gave the name Wat Chakrawat Ratchawat around 1825. Inside the temple, there is a shrine and a statue of Chao Phraya Bodindecha, which the sculptor sculpted from a painting of a statue of Chao Phraya Bodindecha that Somdet Phra Harirak Ramathibodi (Nak Ong Duang), King of Cambodia, ordered to be built in Oudong Meanchey.
