Run to Sapp

Day 5 (August 6) The pearl of the Sichuan-Tibet Central Line - Three-Colored Lake and Xianggla Glacier. I couldn't sleep well due to altitude sickness, so I set out at 5 a.m. to cross the Dingqing-Bianba County Road (S503). The whole journey is 200 kilometers and takes 6 hours. The entire route is a cliff-hanging road. The road is narrow and the roadbed is damaged in many places due to the rainy season. Washboard roads may appear at any time. Cars are in danger of bottoming out, but four-wheel drive SUVs can pass. The towns along the way such as Dangdui, Duwa and Reyu are in a semi-developed state. The average altitude is 4000. There are few vehicles on the road. We arrived at Bianba at 11:00 am. As it was still early, we decided to check in at the Three-color Lake before heading to Yangxiu Township. The distance from Bianba to Sanse Lake is 54 kilometers, and the entire journey is asphalt and flat. Along the way, you can see the hustle and bustle of people harvesting barley. The rivers and impact plains formed by glacial meltwater have a bit of the flavor of the Niyang River. Entering from the gate of Sanse Lake Scenic Area, a sheepdog came uninvited to the grass plain beside the road and accompanied us for lunch under the Xianggela Glacier. It is pleasant to look at the snow-capped mountains. The White Lake, the Black Lake and the Yellow Lake are colorful from near to far, just like a palette of nature. The dancing Tashi Dolma and the working Am weave a beautiful circle of harmonious coexistence between man and nature on the snow-capped mountains, meadows, icy lakes and countryside. All three lakes are within easy reach. My favorite is the Black Lake, the water is so deep and pure blue. The lake water under the Xianggela Glacier is sky blue, and a mobile phone cannot capture its beauty. The floating ice on the lake gives you a great experience. It’s a bit regrettable that we can’t reach the ice cave due to the melting snow in summer, but it also leaves us wanting to explore it next time. The Tibetans in Sanse Lake are simple and warm.
