Oman Coast

Time: 20250119-20250120 The "Oman" in the title does not refer to a country, but to the easternmost part of Bali, Indonesia.1 From the village of Oman to the far eastern tip of Bali, it is often referred to as "Oman", but it actually includes many remote and dry coastal villages.2 For many years, the people here have relied on salt making and fishing for a living.3 At 7 am, you can see young fathers with their daughters looking out to sea. Could it be that the child's mother is out at sea?4 If you want to see colorful Jukung, this is the place to be, as they are crammed into every accessible beach.5 It's quite far from Denpasar, about 100 km, and takes about three hours by car. The reason for coming is because I wanted to stay at this hotel.6 There are about ten villas facing the sea, and this is the entrance to our villa.7 Inside there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open sea-facing terrace, an infinity pool, and an unbeatable sea view.8 This area used to be very poor, with steep cliffs that were almost impossible to grow rice on, and corn and peanuts were the main crops.9 The development of tourism has brought about a great change for them.10 But, the gas station is well built, but do you have to use a plastic bucket to fill up? Later I found out I was wrong, there is a fuel gun, but it has to be locked up with an iron gate after work.11 In fact, it took us six and a half hours to drive back to Denpasar because of rain, traffic jams, and detours. The roads in Bali are too primitive, we drove half a circle around the island, and didn't see a single tunnel or a straight road longer than two kilometers, and we also experienced the fact that the slope was too steep for the small broken car to go up. But, why do I always want to go back?12
