Sunrise Jeep Tour Bali

Price: 💰💰💰 Experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is one of the coolest experience I've had in Bali! Summary: Watching the sunrise at one of Bali's most active volcanoes - Mount Batur! Followed by exploring the world famous black lava from an eruption that occurred hundreds of years ago - all on a Jeep! Here is the breakdown of the entire experience: At 3am our driver was waiting at the hotel lobby to bring us to the main office, where the jeep was waiting. It was a 40 minute ride from our hotel in Ubud. Upon reaching the office, you'll be served a banana crepe with chocolate and a option for tea or coffee. After eating, you'll have to make a payment by card or cash (1.2 million rupiahs each). After doing some research, I found out that this was one of the pricer options online. After paying, you'll get to use the toilet before they guide you to your own jeep. I highly recommend wearing wind proof clothing because I was freezing! They did have a blacket but it's was too thin and small to share comfortably between 2 people. We hopped onto the back and they started driving. It was dark, cold (17 degrees but feels colder due to the wind), but definitely a good bonding experience if you're with your partner or friends. The ride was about 1.5 hours, and there were many other jeeps heading the same direction. Definitely not a private experience, but it's definitely easier than trekking up in the cold. You're able to order some light breakfast at the top, but we decided to skipped it as we were quite full. The tour guides are all trained to help you capture that instagram worthy photos, so if you're heading there alone, you don't have to worry! After the sun rose, you'll get the option to visit the black lava site. Since it was getting warmer, we decided to proceed and it was really beautiful for photo taking! Once we're done, we just let the guide know if we want to head back or to the coffee plantation. Since neither of us like coffee, we decided to head back. Once we're back to the office, we can use the toilet or jump back into the car to head back to our hotel. Overall, the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and the photos were stunning. I definitely recommend bringing some hot drinks (in thermal flask), simple snacks, wet tissue, sunglasses and caps. Definitely wear layers and wind protection clothing to keep you warm and comfortable for the photos! #wheretogo
