Bakaralan, the paradise on earth in Sarawak

Bakelalan is about 880 meters above sea level, located on the border between Malaysia and Indonesia in North Borneo. It is a settlement of the Lung Bawang ethnic minority. It takes more than four hours to drive over mountains and hills from Lawas to reach the place. You can also take a small plane from Miri or Lawas to Bakelalan three times a week, but the small plane only carries 9 passengers. There are no hotels in this settlement, only homestays. The homestay owners can cook traditional food. The three meals a day plus afternoon tea are so delicious that you will never want to leave.
