Axminster, Devon, December 2024 - What began as a quick stop for coffee and some Christmas treats at The Coffee Factory turned into a delightful visit, meeting the engaging co-owner, Danny. He shared his journey from pastry chef to coffee enthusiast, a passion ignited during his travels to Australia and Manly Bay. Upon returning 19 years ago, he opened a café and, facing a lack of quality roasters, began roasting his own beans, establishing The Coffee Factory in 2009. At the heart of @coffee_factory‘s operation are two vintage Probat roasters: Dorothy, a 22kg 1950s Probat lovingly restored with a few modern tweaks, serving as the workhorse for their production, and Penny, another vintage Probat dedicated to small-lot premium coffees and custom roasts.
