Spain Westward Journey ~ Salamanca (Region) Also known as the Prince's Palace or the Altares Palace, it has a series of elements and spaces of outstanding artistic value, such as the façade with its carved coat of arms and the Gothic-Renaissance doorway framed by a large wedge. From the inside, the courtyard is a brilliant example of plate-style architecture and sculpture. It has two levels of arcades and also has carved coats of arms next to the parapet. Also of interest is the church, which once housed an elaborately carved image of Calvary by Juan de Juni, now preserved in the Sculpture Museum in Valladolid.
