Atlanta Travel Guide

How to spend your first time in Atlanta? This guide is all you need!||We spent three days in Atlanta during Thanksgiving, making the most of our City Pass and trying all kinds of Southern snacks. Day 1: On the first day, we mainly visited the Atlanta History Center, highlights include: • Cyclorama: This huge circular painting depicts the Battle of Atlanta in 1864, very impressive. • Swan House: This is an elegant historic estate, many movies have been filmed here. Tickets: $27, a bit expensive, we didn't go inside Swan House, just looked at it from outside for free. Recommendation: ⭐⭐⭐ Day 2: We mainly visited these three CityPass attractions 1. World of Coca-Cola • Over 100 flavors of Coca-Cola from around the world to try! The Chinese sour plum soup flavor and some Thai flavors were pretty good, but the Italian Beverly flavor was really "outrageous" 😂. 2. Georgia Aquarium • There are whale sharks, beluga whales, and many other marine creatures! The largest indoor aquarium in the US. • The animal show is super worth seeing! You need to book in advance (included in the ticket), but you can usually get into the last show of the day, so don't worry about missing it. • Tips: If it's open until 9 pm, go in the afternoon, there are fewer people and it's a better experience. 3. Olympic Park Recommendation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Day 3: On the last day, we chose the Atlanta Civil Rights District: 1. National Center for Civil and Human Rights (included in CityPass) • First floor: Martin Luther King's manuscripts, including his Nobel Peace Prize manuscript (no photos allowed). • Second floor: The history of the American civil rights movement, vividly recreating the scenes of the time. • Third floor: Global civil rights stories, rich in content, worth savoring. 2. Auburn Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park • Auburn Avenue: Once the heart of the civil rights movement, most shops are closed during the day now. • Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park: • King Center: Showcases his life and dreams. • Ebenezer Baptist Church: Martin Luther King served as a pastor here. • Birthplace: Currently under renovation, not open to the public. Recommendation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food recommendations: 1. Mary Mac's Tea Room 2. Copeland's of New Orleans We also had two meals at New Lan Zhou Noodle, their noodles are freshly made, and the sugar oil cake is simply delicious!
