Mount Lycabettus, The Perfect Start to Athens

When Visiting Athens one of the first things I would recommend doing is visiting Mount Lycabettus, the reason for this is you are allowed to explore the streets on the way there, enjoy the 20 minute hike up the winding path and finish with the phenomenal spectacle that is a panoramic view over Athens. From Mount Lycabettus you are able to purchase food at different venues, one being located half way up the main path and the other being located near the top, a gift shop is also located inside the chapel at the top. Mount Lycabettus gives you a great idea of the size of Athens alongside a clear view to multiple sites which you can utilise to plan your next steps. Visiting Mount Lycabettus is free and a car park is located nearby for easier access for those not wanting to do the 20 minute hike, would definitely recommend going as it’s a great view and it’s amazing to see the Greek flag flying proudly above. #athens #greece #mountlycabettus
