Nubian Village 🐊, Aswan, Egypt 🇪🇬

#wecreate We went to meet pet crocodiles in an Egyptian village! 🐊🏘 It was a 20 minute boat ride from the Nile cruise in Aswan and we hired a local guide help us navigate the village better. Why do Nubians keep pet crocodiles? The Nile crocodile was worshiped in the time of the pharaohs as evil, envy and war god named Sobek, and that’s why Nubians keep both pet and mummified crocodiles to prevent evil things and adopted it as a tradition. 🐪 You can also explore the village on camels 💙 Nubians are famous for colourful streets and houses 🛍️ Find Egyptian bags or traditional Galabeya dresses in Nubian market 🌶️ Spices are considered perfect souvenirs to take back home from Nubia 🐊 Every Nubian house has both pet and mummified crocodiles.
