Aso Volcano + ARIAIR Helicopter 15-Minute Tour Experience

Aso Volcano in Kyushu, Japan 🌋 is composed of five peaks ⛰️ and is one of the largest calderas in the world. The Nakadake First Crater 🌋 is still actively emitting smoke 💨 and occasionally erupts 🔥. Therefore, visiting Aso Volcano 🌋 requires a bit of luck 🍀. Staff assess daily weather conditions ☀️, wind direction, volcanic activity, and gas concentration to determine if visitors can ascend. On average, only half of the visitors get the chance to see the volcano's interior each year. Early in the morning, we departed from Hakata, feeling a bit worried 😟 about potential closures. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to join the ARIAIR 15-minute helicopter 🚁 tour we had specially booked to get a close-up view of this active volcano 🤩! The moment the helicopter took off, my heart raced 💓 as the breathtaking scenery unfolded like a painting 👏. Vast green fields, the volcanic crater, and lakes were all in full view 🏞️. The pilot 👨✈️ also provided a brief introduction to the history of Aso Volcano 📜, giving us a deeper understanding of this magnificent geological wonder 🌋. During the flight, the interplay of clouds and sunlight outside the window ☀️ made for stunning photos and videos 📸, each one postcard-worthy 😆. Even after landing, my heart was still racing 💥, feeling the heat of the earth and the sound of the wind intertwined 🚁. It was truly an unforgettable experience 👍. Afterward, we headed to the volcano observation area by land. Due to the high-temperature gases 💨 emitted by Aso Volcano 🌋, which contain high concentrations of sulfur dioxide, and the highly acidic sulfuric acid 🧪 in the volcanic lake, the air near the observation area was filled with harmful gases ⚠️, causing immediate eye 👁️ and throat 🗣️ irritation. From the observation deck 🗻, we could see the crater continuously emitting smoke, resembling the breath of nature 💨, which was truly eye-opening 🤩. As this is an active volcano 🌋, there are many evacuation shelters 🛡️ scattered around. After taking a photo nearby, an alarm suddenly sounded 🚨, and many staff members rushed out to instruct us to evacuate immediately. It turned out that the volcano 🌋 had suddenly become more active, with thick smoke 💨 continuously spewing out and harmful gas concentrations rising sharply ⚠️, prompting an immediate evacuation and closure of the area. We then visited Kusasenri-ga-hama 🌾, a vast plain in the area where we could see herds of horses 🐎 leisurely grazing and enjoy views of the smoke from Nakadake's eruptions. There were also souvenir shops and restaurants, where I tried ice cream 🍨 made from Aso milk and even horse meat sashimi.
