A religious landmark of the South

Formerly known as Wat Bang Thong, located in Ao Luek District It is quite far from Krabi town, almost reaching Phang Nga. The temple recently underwent a major renovation to celebrate King Rama X (before he ascended the throne). Therefore, it was given the name Wat Mahathat Wachiramongkol. The area is very large, the largest temple I have ever been to. All religious buildings have just been completed and are very beautiful and magnificent. In particular, the Phra Mahathat Chedi, which is modeled after the Bodh Gaya style. The connecting walkways are also large and long, connecting them. Underneath, they are decorated with intricate patterns. In the wide courtyard, there is a replica of the Buddha's birth posture, or Baby Buddha, and a large replica of Luang Por Thuad, enshrined for worship. The temple itself has been designated as a school for teaching Buddhist discipline. On the day I went, there was a group of students who came to study and practice Dhamma.
