Anyang is home to numerous historical sites, once the location of the Changde Prefecture City, and traces of the ancient capital's history seem to be found in the old streets of Anyang. You can wander the streets of the old city, take a look at the Bell Tower, view the old residences of Anyang, visit the Drum Tower, imagine the scenery of the ancient city of Yecheng, and feel the prosperity of the ancient capital from a thousand years ago. 🌈Highlights: ✅Cangxiang Street is a famous historical street in Anyang, located in the center of the old city district, not far from the Wengfeng Tower. It is one of the first historical and cultural districts in Henan. The district preserves the architectural cultural heritage of the Changde Prefecture City from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with an antique charm. The street is about five hundred meters long from east to west, with 57 courtyards, most of which are buildings from the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods. Nowadays, most of these buildings have been converted into shops. Although Anyang has a profound history and numerous tourist resources, it is not a traditional tourist city after all. There are not many tourists on the whole street, and many shops are not open. ✅From the Wengfeng Tower, you can see a Catholic church in the distance. After coming down, follow the navigation to take a look. The church is quite large and is said to have been built in the 29th year of the Qing Emperor Guangxu, located in the streets of the old city. The church is very quiet inside, and the afternoon light is also suitable for taking photos as a memento. ✅The Changde Prefecture City God Temple is also in the old city district. When I went there, it was Monday, and it was not open, leaving a regret. ✅Many residences from the Republic of China period are preserved around Cangxiang Street. The architectural style of these residences also reflects the vicissitudes of the years. Some residents who were born and raised here still live in these houses. The northernmost section of Cangxiang Street is a Drum Tower. Although the Drum Tower is decorated with neon lights, the mottled walls and towers show the passage of time, while the lively life below is extraordinary. ✨Tips: Every evening, passing through the Bell Tower, there is a night market and a long snack street, with bustling shops on both sides, full of life. Then return to Cangxiang Street, where the night view is also quite nice. 🚗Address and Transportation: Coordinates to locations like Wengfeng Tower and Cangxiang Street can get you to the old city district.
