Tianchi Lake looks gorgeous in autumn as skies are clear and bright. The overall feeling when you are up on the mountain is as if you were on a different planet. You see nothing but endless forests on the horizon. Everything feels mystical and surreal. The climb up there is terrifying. The driver is very experienced and professional but the roads are crazy. However, once you get to the mountaintop you can't believe your eyes. The views are stunning. The weather up there is cold and there is always wind. So make sure you wear thick clothes and a wool hat or a pair of earmuffs. The only negative thing is the amount of people. It's hard to take nice pictures of the lake with so many people around you doing the same thing. You definitely need patience and a positive attitude. Besides, the paths up there are hard to walk, so be aware of people pushing you or you might fall down. If you want a nice picture be taken for you, you'll have to queue for at least half an hour and pay 30 RMB. Having said that, this is a top attraction you definitely need to visit.
