Yingjiang Temple's Zhenfeng Pagoda

Yingjiang Temple, located outside the Congyang Gate of Anqing City in Anhui Province, on the banks of the Yangtze River, covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters. It consists of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, Zhenfeng Pagoda, Pilu Hall, Sutra Collection Tower, Dashi Pavilion, Dharma Hall, and Guangsi Hall. Formerly known as the Huguo Yongchang Zen Temple, also known as the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas, it is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It was first built in the seventh year of the Kaibao era of the Northern Song Dynasty (974 AD). In the forty-seventh year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1619 AD), the local gentry Ruan Zihua raised funds for its renovation. Yingjiang Temple, above the main gate, there is a plaque with the three characters 'Yingjiang Temple' (written during the eighth year of Emperor Guangxu's reign on the day of Guyu), and on each side of the door, there is an iron anchor weighing about 3 tons. This is a unique feature that distinguishes the temple from others.
