I chose Yaojia·1913 for this trip to Anji. The homestay is located at the foot of the mountain and is a Hui-style building that has been settled by the years. With its grayish-blue tile roof, wooden horse-head walls, carved wooden windows, and bluestone paths, it exudes a beauty that does not contend with the mundane world. I have always had a special fondness for ancient architecture. Walking into the homestay, I feel that every brick and piece of wood has its own story. It has a bit of a hermitage flavor. The entrance is very simple, with rammed earth walls and a tile roof. Everything is very quiet. There are mountains and water, and the ancient charm lingers. Entering the room, there is underfloor heating, TV, sound system, all the facilities that a modern homestay should have, without missing a thing. There is also a very Zen tatami area. The most surprising moment is when you open the window. It's as if time has stood still, the lattice window filters the mottled twilight, as if traveling back to that ancient era. The service is really in place, with a caring butler at all times. From 5 minutes before the car arrived at the homestay, the young man was already at the door to greet us. Driving an electric car is very convenient, with free charging piles available. They also remind us to pay attention to driving safety at night, and the young lady will thoughtfully arrange things for you. She even specially prepared toast and milk for breakfast the next day, so we wouldn't be hungry on the way back. The owner also gives a small token from the countryside when leaving, and the cat is also docile and affectionate.
