After resigning from the court, he lived here in his later years and built a seodang to educate his disciples. When Toegye Yi Hwang passed away, his disciples came together to build Dosan Seowon. While traveling here, I was struck by the work called 'Athens School' that I had seen in the Vatican a long time ago! It must have been because of the records of the famous Confucian scholars of the time gathering here to teach and discuss endlessly, along with the hall of learning!
