The Idilic Amalfi Coast

Well the Amalfi Coast really does live up to all of the hype. What a beautiful stunning place, everywhere you look there are pockets of nature and classic Italian architecture. The Amalfi coast just seems to get better and better the more you drive through it. As soon as we landed in Naples airport we hired a car around 200 metres down the road. We stopped at Pompeii on our way to where we were staying at Massa Lubrense and my only complaint is that we did not have enough time to see everything there, you could easily spend a whole day there. Once we settled in to our place we spend a day out at a cove with the bluest water I have ever seen then travelled up to Amalfi to get some gelato and relaxed with a drink at the beach. That night we travelled to Sorrento for pizza and it was outstanding, the nightlife was also impressive for a Sunday night! The next day we travelled to Pianillo to do a 3 hour cooking class where we made Mozzarella, fresh pasta and tiramisu which was an amazing meal experience which I would definitely recommend. We left there very well fed and had plenty of wine all for the small price of only £50 per head! We then spent the rest of the day and night in Positano which genuinely looks better in person than in the photos you see on Instagram! Although Positano was generally more expensive than elsewhere it was certainly worth it for the experience. We all loved every second of our time at the Amalfi Coast. We spent 4 days here but if we were to do it again we would come for 6 days minimum to ensure we got to do everything we wanted, we would have also loved to have hired a private boat to go to Capri but just didn’t have the time.
