8-Day Xinjiang Snow Tour Guide: Itinerary - Day 1: Arrive in Urumqi: After arriving in Urumqi, you can head to the International Grand Bazaar to try some local delicacies, such as lamb kebabs and pilaf, and experience the rich culture of Xinjiang.  - Day 2: Urumqi to Burqin: Depart in the morning and drive along the S21 Desert Highway to see the snowy desert. You can stop at Ulungur Lake to admire the snow-covered lake and the magnificent sunset.  - Day 3: Burqin to Kanas: Head to Kanas Scenic Area to admire the snow-covered Kanas Lake and the surrounding rime-covered mountains. Stroll along the lake and enjoy the "Three Ink Paintings," namely the Fairy Bay, Moon Bay, and Wolong Bay.  - Day 4: Kanas to Hemu: Head to Hemu and enjoy the beautiful snowy scenery along the way. After arriving, check in to a cozy cabin and try skiing, horse-drawn sledding, and other activities. You can also enjoy the beautiful sunset from the Hemu Viewing Platform.  - Day 5: Hemu: Get up early and head to the Hemu Viewing Platform to enjoy the sunrise and morning mist. You can then explore Hemu Village and experience the Tuva culture, such as visiting century-old houses. - Day 6: Hemu to Karamay to Sayram Lake: Depart in the morning and head to Karamay to enjoy the Gobi Desert scenery along the way. Then, head to Sayram Lake and check in to a hotel near the scenic area.  - Day 7: Sayram Lake: Embark on a 360° tour around the lake to see the blue ice and ice bubbles up close. You can also try snow UTV, snow tubing, and other activities. - Day 8: Sayram Lake to Urumqi: Head back to Urumqi and enjoy the winter scenery of Northern Xinjiang along the way. After arriving in Urumqi, head to the airport or train station to end your 8-day Xinjiang snow tour. Reminders - Clothing: Xinjiang is cold in winter, so bring warm clothes such as down jackets, thermal underwear, hats, scarves, gloves, and non-slip waterproof outdoor boots. - Skincare and sun protection: The climate is dry and the UV rays are strong, so bring moisturizing skincare products and sunscreen. - Transportation: Xinjiang is vast and sparsely populated, with scattered attractions and complex road conditions.
