Kedah Museum birthplace of Mahathir Mohamad
The museum each of the buildings is neat and tidy, equipped with air conditioners and interactive screens which is interesting for the kids and even us adults.
This museum is located in Alor Setar, late Prime Minister Mahathir's Birthplace a.k.a. Rumah Kelahiran Mahathir serves as a museum for visitors.
Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's seventh and longest-serving prime minister, was born the youngest of nine children in Alor Setar in 1925. Rumah Kelahiran Mahathir, his childhood home, is now preserved as a small but worthwhile museum, containing family effects, photos and the politician's old bicycle.

Muzium Padi
Kedah Paddy Museum is a great place to learn about paddy and rice. If you want to know more about history of rice. It contains some historical artifact for the rice plantation not just in Kedah as well as from different countries in Asia. The exhibitions are quite extensive.
The entrance fee for adult is five Malaysian ringgits. This place is really ideal for students field trip.

Alor Setar
Alor Setar is the second-largest city in the state after Sungai Petani and one of the most-important cities on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. From the pictures we can see the the third-tallest telecommunication tower in Malaysia, the Alor Setar Tower. It is bery nice in this place because the tourist attractions are just around. When you come in this place make sure to put sunblock especially when you come late morning.

Grand Alora Hotel, Alor Setar
It’s a school holiday! So, I’m travelling to Alor Setar, Kedah. I’m staying at Grand Alora Hotel in Bandar Baru Mergong.
By staying at this hotel, we can get free parking for guest. Got some facilities like spa, swimming pool and gym but currently the facilities are all under maintenance. The hotel also is facing with Lotus’ Mall and got street stalls in front of the hotel 🍗🌯🍜
Furthermore, we can get affordable breakfast buffet, ADULT (RM20) & KIDS (RM10). As we booked with no breakfast included. So we pay for that price during check in. However, the receptionist said that the price will become RM25 (adult) for walk in. So please confirm first during check in.
Don’t worry girls! The iron and board prepared in each room!! And don’t worry boys! The room also has a fridge so you guys can buy carbonate drink! Wihiii~ My room also got table for work and I’m glad because I’m currently WFH 👩💻.
What’s amazing is, you may get the view of paddy field! The staffs are also friendly and very helpful. They give well explanations to our inquiry. So yeah 🙌🏼

Challenging caving and hiking trails
Fans of extreme sports can come to Gunung Keriang to test themselves, the uniqueness which includes crystals as well as challenging caving and hiking trails.
There is no problem for those who want to explore the cave during the rainy season, because there is a lower chance of being trapped inside, but still, safety needs to be prioritized due to the slippery rock surface.
inside the cave, some rocks resemble crocodiles, and the place is named Dataran Buaya. However, the incident was merely a mere coincidence due to the erosion of naturally formed rocks.
There are several caves found in Gunung Keriang, such as Gua Terus, Gua Pokok Sireh, Gua Sanding, and Gua Telur, that can be visited by climbers.
“The caves in Gunung Keriang are different from Gua Tempurung (Perak) and Gua Kelam (Perlis) because the caves on the mountain are high on the hill compared to the caves in the two states, which are low above or below the ground,” said Abdul Rahman.

This place is located at Jalan Pintu Sepuluh, Alor Setar, Kedah in front of Starcity Hotel. It also is very near to the Aman Central Mall.
This place serve steamboat and Shellout. The taste is really good. There are ample parking lots available. The place is really spacious and clean.
Overall it is satisfying and value for money.

#newyearadventure Went here for a night with friends. There are 3 diff room rate, the amenities provided in the rooms are the same. Highest rate is pool access. Lowest is the garden view. Its very relaxing . The room is a little bit small than expected . No tv, no heater . But you can get hot water from the coway at cafe . They play a loud song at night so most probably not kid friendly. Overall it was a good experience !

Kedah State Museum @ Alor Setar
This museum is located near to Alor Star Stadium. The admission is free of charge. Inside the museum there are 5 floors exhibiting relics relating to state of Kedah. Among the items on display are ancient tombs, traditional attires, historical documents, traditional weapons, local handcraft and many others. Visitors are not allowed to take pictures inside the museum. The parking space are huge. The interior is very clean and comfortable.

Royal Family Choice Hotel in Alor Setar
The airport is just next door. Bumped into the Perak Raja Di Hilir Royal Family during check-in....Nice ID, modern design..surrounded with paddy field. Just a few km from Istana Anak Bukit. Many famous eatery along the road outside the hotel.
Bamboo Baryani & Lamb Shank 👍
This is my newly discovered hidden spot for dinner. Located at Alor Mengkudu, Alor Setar Kedah, the specialty of this restaurant are baryani rice serve in bamboo and also Lamb Shank Singapore style. The baryani rice is sooo delicious. The smell of ghee oil they use in the rice is really fragrance. The portion is enough for 2 adults. The Lamb Shank in red gravy Singapore style is indeed a killer menu in this restaurant. The price I would say ranging from RM30-35 per person. Definitely this place will be one of my favorite place for quite a long period of time.

Classy Steak House in Alor Setar
Located at the heart of Alor Setar Town, this place is a very classy place to dine in. Their specialty is premium beef meat known as wagyu and tomahawk. Apart from that they also serve other menu such as lobster, spaghetti, wagyu fried rice and many other interesting menu. The location is very clean and the ambiance also very modern and trendy. Apart from that, their staff are also very attentive and helpful. The price I would say ranging from RM 50-60 per person and is reasonable for the foods.

Peaceful and tranquil place to spend ur time!
Mount Keriang is a well-known tourist destination in Kedah and a paradise for people who like high-risk sports. The mountain is famous for its crystal production. Forest trekking, rock climbing, exploring caves, and camping are popular activities on Mount Keriang. Walk slowly in the green trails in the mountains, breathe the fresh air in the mountains and feel the breeze in the shade. Climbing to the viewing platform, you can overlook the panoramic view of Alor Setar and a green rice field, which is very charming.

its an A5 wagyu steak that im talking bout. the juicy of wagyu that i get from medium rare cook and guess what for that portion it only cost rm265. and you can taste the buttery taste from the meat when you bite the wagyu. it comes with blackpepper and white sauce and crispy fries and fresh salad. its so good i feel like dreaming.
also you can try their tomahawk for just 480++ per 1.3kg. and rib eye for rm88 per plate (portion for 2 person)

Mount Keriang Recreational Park
One of hidden nature that Kedah government need to expose to public. A little limestone mountain to visit in Alor Setar, about 20 minutes only from town central.
Surrounded by paddy fields. Worth visiting, especially in the evenings to get a spectacular view of the mountain with sunlight reflected on it. Paddy museum, science center and aquatic centre with Olympic size pool are just around it. Nice hill to hike, especially for beginner. Just follow the trail.

Tan Kee Roasted Duck, Lunas
Near Kulim there is a tiny town called Lunas. Here, locals know that it is famous for the roasted duck. To be specific, a restaurant by the name of "Tan Kee Roasted Duck". In Lunas, this is the most brightly colored shop and it's very easy to find. Even though the restaurant looks old, the food is very tasty. We had roasted duck and Chai Boey (Mustard Greens Stew), it tasted superb! It is the best I have eaten so far. The roasted duck has been seasoned well and goes well with their porridge and the sweet chili sauce. They do have a good crowd during lunch hours on weekends, but the service was quick, and the staff were very efficient.
