🇵🇹The Alcobaça Cathedral with a Love Story

The cathedral next to the Alcobaça Monastery is the most magnificent and historic place in Portugal and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you enter the cathedral, the huge Romanesque interior catches your eye. The high ceiling and clean white stone walls are very impressive. However, what makes this place even more special is the love story of Iñás de Castro and Pedro I. The tombs of the two lovers face each other in the center of the cathedral, and the explanations are well written, so it was fun to see. You can feel that this is not just a religious facility, but a place where Portuguese history and legends of love live and breathe. It was especially great to see the Portuguese tile style.
