Armenian mountains / Lori

Lori is a province (marz) of Armenia. It is located in the north of the country, bordering Georgia. Vanadzor is the capital and largest city of the province. Other important towns include Stepanavan, Alaverdi, and Spitak. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries and the well-preserved Akhtala monastery, where Armenians, Georgians, and Greeks make an annual pilgrimage on September 20–21. 24 km north of Vanadzor is the town of Stepanavan․ The town has a mild and humid climate and is considered a resort town due to its natural and climatic conditions. The most famous place of Stepanavan is Dendropark, a unique park, where a natural forest landscape has been reshaped into a Forest Park. It is home to a wide variety of trees: both native and acquired from other botanic gardens. California Sequoia of the park is of particular value․ #summervacation #staycation
