I'm in Egypt, and I really love Aswan!

Aswan truly lives up to its reputation as the most beautiful stretch of the Nile River. The waterfall afternoon tea + sunset was absolutely stunning! The afternoon tea price has increased; it's now 1500 EGP per person, 3000 for two. We ordered too much for afternoon tea and couldn't finish it all, and we still had 400 (EGP) unused, so we went to another area (the Nile view section) to order some drinks🍹. The waiters in the bar area were also very witty and humorous. When we went, there were really a lot of Chinese people having afternoon tea. However, there are many areas that non-guests cannot access, and the front desk explained this when we bought the tickets. ⚠️I heard others complaining that the hotel discriminates against Chinese people, but actually, that's not the case. I saw another table of elderly white ladies who also couldn't go beyond the designated areas. Abu Simbel, the temple of the narcissistic Ramesses II, is a super tiring 8-hour round trip by car, but it's truly worth it and incredibly impressive. It's a 13th-century BC structure, with captives of various races kneeling at the entrance, showcasing Ramesses II's power. I took photos at Nefertari Temple, praying for my own beauty, haha. Both the driver and guide were so cheerful, singing all the way through the Sahara Desert. What was particularly interesting is that they also liked APT, and when "Brothers, give a hug" played, I was completely bewildered – who understands that feeling? Egypt is not as scary as it's portrayed online; people are very friendly, and the main streets are very safe (much safer than the US). Kids absolutely love foreigners and will treat you like a celebrity. They love to say hello to foreigners, and if you say hello back, they'll scream with surprise – it's really over the top! Most vendors will leave you alone if you just smile and say "no thank you." Before buying anything, check the prices and then bargain hard (to 1/3 or even 1/10 of the price) so you don't get ripped off. If the boss accepts your offer, they'll chase after you if you try to leave.
