I found a treasure on this trip to Saudi Arabia! We have unlocked the ultra-niche but speechless-beautiful Abha. We really can’t allow anyone to not know about it! 🗺️Itinerary Day 1: Arrive in Abha in the morning and take a taxi to the hotel to check in. The hotels in Abha are all good value for money. After putting down our luggage and taking a short rest, we walked to Abha National Park. The park is very large, with amazing natural scenery. You can stroll through it and feel the fresh air. It is recommended to spend about 3 hours there. Day 2: Get up early and go to the Khamis Market in Asir. It is full of the atmosphere of fireworks and has all kinds of special handicrafts, spices, and clothing. You can't get enough of it even if you spend 2-3 hours here. In the afternoon, we went to the old city of Abha. The ancient buildings were full of historical charm and we spent 2 hours there. Day 3: Go to the mountains around Abha, rent a car and drive yourself there. The scenery along the way is beautiful. After arriving at the mountain area, hike up the mountain and enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery. The scenery in the mountains is even more unique. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking down, you can see the continuous mountains and valleys. The magnificent feeling really cannot be described in words. 🍱Food recommendations I highly recommend Al-Baik, which has branches in many places in Abha. Their roast chicken is their signature dish. The chicken is roasted to a crispy outside and tender inside. It is juicy and fresh when you bite it. It is paired with a unique sauce and is full of local flavor. You must try it! There is also a traditional food called Kabsa, which is a mixture of rice, meat and spices. You can eat super authentic ones at Al-Zahrani restaurant, which is located in the city center. The temperature in the mountains is relatively low, so you should bring a thick coat even in summer. Many attractions in Abha do not require tickets, but you may need to make an appointment in advance to enter some special areas.
