A cute tea stand with a pattern that looks like a certain brand. A Chinese classical garden inside the bustling Shanghai city. We arrived at the place quite late, around 4 p.m., and the Yu Garden was about to close for visitors. However, we could enjoy the exciting ambience surrounding the Yu Garden, which was more attractive to me. There are plenty of stands, stores with various merchandise, and F&B. #heritageplace Visited to Yuyuan Old Street in Shanghai this end of February and we were soooo lucky that we still managed to see this super duper stunning Chinese New Year decoration with the red-fish themed across the entire area. Cant be denied, Shanghai has the most beautiful CNY decor!!!! How to get there: - Take the MRT and alight the Yuyuan Station - Using line 10 or 14 Highlight: - You can wear the Chinese traditional clothes to take picture in this 400 years old street. There were also many girls walking around in #Hanfu. The quiet streets where tourists had left, the traditional roofs lit by yellow lights, and even the shadows of the buildings reflected in the water. Yewon was actually a space that became even more beautiful at night! ⸻ 📍 Location • Shanghai Yuyuan Shangqing Street (Yuyuan closes around 5:30 PM) ⸻ 👍 Quiet and good for walking • There are definitely fewer people than during the day • Almost no group tourists → Easy to take pictures • You can walk in a quiet atmosphere without noise ⸻ 📸 Recommended photo points • Buildings across the river from a bridge + reflections of water • People under roofs with yellow lights • Quiet night shots under small store signs → Bright enough without a tripod, good with the iPhone's default camera ⸻ 🍢 Night food & snack street also open • Stores selling skewers, fried food, dumplings, and jujube tea near Yuyuan are open at night • You can eat a quick meal for 1,000 to 2,000 won without feeling burdened • Natural atmosphere due to many people walking around with snacks ⸻ 🕒 Most recommended time • After 8:30 PM • All the lights are on, and there are almost no tourists Golden Time ⸻ 💡 Summary of actual advantages • Even if you can't enter the Yuyuan Garden, the atmosphere is enough just from the outside street • It takes good pictures, and it's okay as a quiet night walk course • It's not a course that I would go back to see the night view, but if you have free time in the evening, it's a pretty good choice ⸻ ✔️ Overall Review One of the few places in downtown Shanghai where you can see the traditional night view without the hassle. It's less crowded than during the day, and it's actually prettier. If you have the fixed idea that Yuyuan = daytime, I recommend going back in the evening once!

With a long layover (over 10 hours) in Shanghai, I decided to take advantage of Trip.com's free Shanghai Tour. This included a trip to Yu Gardens and a free boat tour as well. We arrived at Yu Gardens and were guided through the old square and food markets where we had 20 minutes of free time to grab some food and then headed onto the boat tour. This lasted around 45 minutes.

If you come to Shanghai and don't visit Yuyuan Garden, you're really missing out! Walking around here feels like being lost in a historical movie. My personal feelings when coming here: • Every corner is beautiful for photos, especially the bridges and the main hall. If you like taking photos in ancient style, you should wear Hanfu here, it will automatically look beautiful! • The surrounding area has many delicious restaurants, especially Shanghai's famous xiao long bao. • The only downside is that it's very crowded, especially on weekends, so if you go, you should go a little early for comfort. I went to Shanghai during the Chinese New Year! I will write about the recommended spot, Yuyuan Garden. Yuyuan Garden (first photo) I went to Yuyuan Garden twice during my trip. The first time was around 9am. There were Chinese-style buildings and various shops, so I stayed there longer than I had planned. It was decorated for the Chinese New Year, so it was very worth seeing. I was prepared for a lot of people because it was the Chinese New Year, but there weren't that many people and I was able to stroll around at my own pace. The second time was around 1pm two days later (second photo). When the time changed, I was surprised by the number of people! ! It was difficult to get around because there were far more people than I expected, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. There were many restaurants in Yuyuan Garden, but I recommend the Xiaolongbao. The most famous Nanxiang Mantou Shop (third and fourth photos) I didn't think I could get into the store, so I ordered takeaway. The first place I visited on my trip to Shanghai was the daycare center. The lighting was so beautiful that it seemed to blow away all my fatigue. It was an experience of traveling in China. I thought that this kind of archway would be the entrance to a temple. But when I went in, I was amazed and thought of Yaowarat in Thailand, but bigger. Haha, I want people who travel to China to go to Yuyuan Garden. I would like to recommend that if you go, I do not recommend going in the morning. I recommend going when the sky is a bit dark.
