If you come to Taiwan and want to do clay sculpting, cup sculpting, glass sculpting, I recommend this area. Yingge is a place that specializes in this field and there are many houses that open workshops for us to sculpt clay. This time we went to Fun pottery. The teacher was very kind. He let us choose whether we want to sculpt by hand or by machine. If it is by machine, it is a rotating plate. We chose the machine because we have wanted to play for a long time. Hahaha At first, the teacher will show us how to sit, how to throw clay, how to start the clay, how to make the center, and then sculpt in many ways to show us how to sculpt if we want this shape. When it is time to actually do it, he will come to help us and adjust and correct us according to our needs. For example, we showed him the model that we wanted this shape to be, and he will tell us how to do it. When we are done sculpting, we can go to the hand sculpting zone to sculpt decorations. We sculpted flowers and added more. When we are done, we choose the color we want each part to be. The shop will do the coloring for us. I discovered a pottery producing area that's relatively close to Taipei and can be visited on a day trip. Many ceramics stores were lined up on both sides of the cobblestone street. If you are someone whose in love with Ceramic stuff, collection of quartz stones, artworks and antique, I recommend you to come to Yingge Historical Ceramic Street located at 23941, New Taipei City, Yingge District where it opens at 10am and closes early due to the winter schedule. If you are especially also a tea lover, this is a place where you are able to find good Ceramic teapots at a decent price, but do look around as there are endless of shops here. But one thing to be wary is, some of this pots here are factory made in mass production while some here are authentically made by hand. I came to this attraction by accident, but the bridge is so stunning. The setting sun in the evening, combined with the stream below, is very beautiful. As the sun sets, the lights on the bridge come on, creating another beautiful scene. The winding bridge, coupled with the lights, really looks like a giant dragon taking off. The bridge deck is made of iron sheets, which makes it a bit scary to walk on, but in fact, motorcycles and bicycles can pass through. Looking out from the bridge, the edge of the bridge becomes a shaped picture frame, which combines with nature to present a beautiful painting. In the past, I always went to the old street when I went to Yingge District. This was my first time to go into the Yingge Ceramics Museum. The simple exposed concrete design and large glass curtain walls made me feel peaceful. The museum is divided into four floors, each with a different theme introducing ceramics, ranging from the plain to the colorful, from the long history to the modern technology applications. There is a water fountain area at the back where children can use up energy. Adults can have fun while children can have fun too! 😁 #familytravel
