Vung Tau, a beautiful coastal city in the South, is just a 2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, making it a frequent destination for me. The coastal road here is clean and scenic, with the blue sea on one side and mountains on the other. Though small, Vung Tau offers plenty to explore, from its beaches to its rich Southern cuisine. Popular beaches include Thuy Van, Dau, and Dua. Thuy Van beach is the main public swimming area, lined with parks, snack stalls, and plenty of hotels and resorts. For a quieter experience, I prefer Tam Duong beach (Front Beach) with its coconut trees and closer views of ships. This area also offers cafés, souvenir shops, and seafood restaurants. Behind Fusion Suites Hotel, Xom Luoi Market is a must-visit for fresh seafood – a favorite spot where my daughter and I enjoyed picking out live seafood for a custom meal. Vung Tau’s food scene is another highlight. Don’t miss local specialties like banh khot, salted egg sponge cake, Alibaba ice cream, and stingray hotpot. Vùng Tàu is the nearest beach to Ho Chi Minh City. It is a 2hr speed ferry or bus ride away. You get to see beautiful sea views, great and cheap seafood, and quaint vibes on a weekday. Definitely worth a visit. One of the major attractions is the Jesus statue that you can actually climb! Though the climb to the statue itself already isn't easy, it's up a steep hill! Definitely worth it to come here for a day trip! There's also a theme park and cable car if you're up for the thrills. [GETTING THERE] Vung Tau is 125 km away from Ho Chi Minh City, 2 hours by bike, 3 hours by bus, and 2 hours by ferry. [ATTRACTIONS] Vung tau is a good escape from the hustle and bustle of busy Saigon for its picturesque beaches and dreamlike landscape. One of the most visited spots is Ho May Park (the state-of-the-art entertainment). Visiting this place, however, requires you to have a moderate level of physical fitness, which means this place isn't recommended to tourists with cardiovascular problems. For Pagoda explorers, there are many temples around and in the area worth visiting. Location: Vungtau in Vietnam. Getting there: Vungtao city is located 90 minutes on boat from Ho Chi Minh. We stayed in Vung Tau for four nights at the Cao Hotel. There are two beaches in Vung Tao. One is called front beach and one is called back beach. I recommend staying at front beach. Many five star hotels line up here and you have excellent access to the beach. This beach city is cheaper than most in Asia and it's really nice to swim and relax. Even in the winter, it's warm! #vungtau #vietnam

This statue of Jesus is located in Vung Tau, southern Vietnam. Getting there: Fly to Ho Chi Minh and then get the ferry boat ride to Vung Tau. Not expensive and you will be there in less than two hours. This Jesus statue sits at the top of a hill, similar to the one in Rio. You can climb the steps inside and stand on the arms to get a panoramic view of the beach town. Inside the statue also contains a small museum with art and relics. Vung Tau is a small, coastal city in the south of Vietnam. On the edge of the city, walking distance is a hill and on top of the hill is the amusement park. There's a cable car that takes people on top and back. The tickets for the cable car and the amusement park ate bought at the cable car entrance. The park is very cheap and the ticket includes everything inside the park. There's also a big swimming pool, with slides inside the amusement park. People can relax on the chair by the pool. There are some restaurants and snack shops around the park. It's definitely worth seeing one or twice. #rediscovertravel

Vung Tau is a small town in the south of Vietnam. Getting there is easy by flying to Ho Chi Minh and then taking a VIP bus to Vung Tau. The VIP cars are very comfortable and not expensive. Vung Tau has two main beaches, the front beach and the back beach. The back beach is cleaner and bigger. There's a pot of street food at night and of course a lot of restaurants all over. There's also a possibility of renting a bike and going around town by yourself. There's also a big supermarket, with a movie theater and food court to enjoy in the city. #vietnamtrip I visited the restaurant on the weekend so it was quite crowded but the restaurant is very spacious so it was not difficult to find a seat. In my opinion, the drinks are quite delicious, the price is reasonable with the location on Tran Phu street and the sea view. The service is not outstanding but there is nothing to complain about. Small, cute space filled with the smell of cakes and fresh flowers The cafe I mentioned has a strange name " Salt Water " Salt Water has a classic European look. Everyone who stops by must want to come back. The shop has many beautiful photo angles, the cakes here are delicious but the price is a bit high. I had a thought when entering the center area of the shop, which was the stage area of the previous cinema. Why does the shop owner leave a lot of empty space without arranging tables and chairs. When taking pictures through the doorway, I only understand the answer. Very smart and logical arrangement, only if guests sit in, you will see clearly the opposite. Like reflecting the mood, emotion of each person. The shop is making additional space upstairs, I'm quite looking forward to it. This is the White Palace that we visited during our one-day tour of Vung Tau near Ho Chi Minh City. The White Palace is said to have been used as a villa by the French colonial governor in 1889. The Statue of Christ the King of Vung Tau is a destination not to be missed when you come to Vung Tau. Located on the top of Nho Mountain, the 32m high statue of Christ, with its arms raised towards the sea, is one of the largest statues of Christ in the world. Not only does it stand out for its impressive size, it also offers a wonderful panoramic view of the city and Vung Tau sea. To reach the statue, you will have to climb about 800 steps. Although it is a bit tiring, the cool, quiet green space of the surrounding area will make you feel relaxed. On the way up, you can stop at rest stops to catch your breath and take photos. If you do not want to climb, you can choose a taxi or motorbike to get to the foot of the mountain, then just walk a short distance to get there. The Statue of Christ was built in 1974 and has strong cultural and religious influences. Inside the statue, there are stairs leading to a high level, where you can stand inside the statue and admire Vung Tau from above. This is a very interesting and unique experience. In particular, the sunset here is very beautiful, you will have great photos when standing from the top of the statue looking down at the city and the vast ocean. Note that this area has quite a lot of tourists and locals visiting, so you may feel crowded during rush hours. However, the air here is quite airy, cool and peaceful, helping you feel more comfortable. I rolled around all day at the hotel pool in Bong Tau. I swam while looking at the endless ocean, and I even laid on a sunbed and had a cup of coffee. It was perfect.
