The water towns of Jiangnan are where rivers and banks entwine, where reflections and reality gaze at each other. As boats glide by, the water ripples like silk being gently parted, only to seamlessly mend again at the stern. If you want to escape the crowds and experience the tranquility of Jiangnan, this is the perfect choice for you. - At **Puyuan Pier** 🚣, you can take a rowing boat to soak in the beauty of the water town. There are also occasional summer activities, like NPCs on board armed with water guns for thrilling water fights—so much fun! If you visit the **Water Meditation Hall** 🧘, you can join a guided sound meditation session. After relaxing, head across to paddle a small boat or try stand-up paddleboarding for some excitement. Vendors on boats selling snacks add to the lively atmosphere—it's absolutely delightful! At sunset, head to the infinity pool on the rooftop of **Meishang Resort Hotel** 🌅 to witness a breathtaking sunset and snap some unforgettable photos. In the evening, gather with friends at **Candle Street** 🍻 to enjoy the cool breeze, watch an open-air movie, and savor delicious food. The most beautiful town that left me amazed and speechless. If you're visiting Shanghai or Hangzhou, you must make a trip to Wuzhen. It's about 1 hour and 50 minutes by car from Shanghai, so it's best to leave early in the morning around 7-8 AM to avoid traffic and have more time to explore. Our group left at 10 AM, which led to some traffic congestion. If you get car sick, it might be a bit tiring. Luckily, we had a very helpful driver who bought tickets for Tây Sách for us at 150 RMB per person and boat tickets at 50 RMB per person (the boat fits 8 people). Alternatively, you can walk, but taking the boat is highly recommended! The town is quite empty around noon, making it perfect for taking photos without any hassle. Be sure to explore every corner! We thought we had seen enough, but later realized there were many places we missed, which was a bit regretful. By around 4 PM, the town gets crowded as many visitors check into hotels within the town. You absolutely must visit this place to experience its tranquility and charm!✨

Visit Wu Village during the Dragon Boat Festival. There are not too many tourists. The village organizes various Dragon Boat Festival activities, such as making glutinous rice dumplings and playing small games. The environment is rich in natural pastoral feeling. Get close to nature and take a deep breath to cleanse your soul. There is a small iron tube train in the village, one for each person, and you can take a tour. The sightseeing bus connecting Wuzhen West Gate is frequent, so tourists will not spend too much time waiting.

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 I didn't expect that such an ancient and simple water town actually has an elegant and fashionable hotel. The "Wuzhen Waterside Resort Hotel" is located in the Xizha Scenic Area, very close to the tourist center and parking lot, with a superior geographical location. The simple and elegant appearance, modern and stylish lobby, design style full of oriental classical aesthetics, antique furnishings, and exquisite screens give people a whole sense of luxury. It is worthy of being a high-end hotel ranked at the top in Wuzhen. The waterside feature room is full of ancient charm, with a classical carved bed frame, just like an ancient master's bedroom, and the soft yellow tones of the wood give it an antique feel. The room is approximately 19 square meters in size and costs approximately NT$3,500 for two people including breakfast. The city is famous as the "Venice of the East" because of its intricate canal network and well-preserved ancient architecture. The city is divided into two main parts: the East (Dongzha) and the West (Xizha). The West is larger. This trip is very impressive, as if we are traveling back in time. I must say that Wuzhen was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the late 9th century. It has well-preserved ancient architecture. The city is surrounded by water, with ancient buildings, stone bridges, and beautiful ancient Chinese style. We can spend time from day to night. At night, the lights are even more beautiful. There are paper lanterns of various shapes hanging everywhere. The entrance fee is 150 yuan (750 baht). The city is very large and there are many zones to walk around. Each zone has its own unique beauty. It is a bit far from Shanghai city, but it is worth it. How to get there Get off at Shanghai South Railway Station on the red line. Then walk to South Long Distance Station to buy a bus ticket to Wuzhen. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. I recommend it.

To truly experience the historical and cultural charm, staying overnight is a must. This time, we stayed at the best hotel in Puyuan Ancient Town, the Meshang Resort Hotel. The hotel features a Zen culture theme, with the traditional Chinese pattern of the swastika as the basic design, symbolizing auspiciousness and virtue. The architecture combines traditional and modern styles, offering a view of the Jiangnan scenery right outside the window. Guests can enjoy the rich charm of courtyard gardens, blending scenic beauty with comfort. The deluxe standard room is spacious, measuring a full 55 square meters. The room is equipped with an independent Zen tea room, and the balcony faces the ancient town, providing a relaxing and picturesque view. However, the price is not cheap, with a double room including breakfast costing 4700 TWD. The accommodation includes tickets to the Puyuan Fashion Ancient Town scenic area, Hanfu photo services, and transportation transfers, making it quite convenient for traveling to and from the ancient town.

After 3 hours from Suzhou, I arrived in Wuzhen. I booked a room inside the ancient town, about 400RMB/night for 2, so the entrance fee will be 120RMB. If you don't rent a room, the price will be 150RMB. You don't even need to know Chinese because there is a translation screen. The luggage will be taken to the room by boat, and you can walk in. Don't worry because there will be a lot of beautiful scenery along the way and you can take many pictures until you get to your room. You can choose the breakfast from the night before, simple and very beautiful, I like it. Although the room is small, it is warm and complete, the disposable comb is made of wood and you can take it home. The next day they will also give you a paper gift to thank you. That night I ate stewed chicken and stir-fried cabbage in the town. Although it is expensive because it is in a tourist area, it is delicious and you can eat as much rice as you want for 2RMB. The morning sunlight is especially beautiful, there will be more shops and restaurants. Go out and rent traditional Chinese costumes to take pictures because it will be cheaper than in the tourist area. There are also many souvenirs sold here, especially you should bring a notebook to collect stamps. Don't miss Wuzhen at night because it is extremely splendid and romantic.
