It's been a while 🩷 I went on a solo trip to Thailand last week, so I'll introduce a model itinerary for that trip! I flew from Kansai Airport to Bangkok using Hong Kong Airlines. Recently, you can get to many countries quite cheaply by using Chinese airlines ✨ I arrived in the morning, so I slept soundly at the airport and then took a taxi to the hotel on Khao San Road, and from there, Day 1: Ban Tatton Road Day 2: Dinner at Naam1608, Tichuca rooftop bar Day 3: Yaowarat (Chinatown), White Flower Cafe Day 4: Yaowarat (Chinatown), Terminal 21 Day 5: The Artist House, Wat Paknam, Khao San Road 🤍 This was my fifth time in Thailand, and it was the first time I went to a rooftop bar or restaurant, and although the food was very delicious, the Thai food at local restaurants was the best (my Thai friend said that too lol). I stayed on a yacht for three days and two nights and went snorkeling in the waters of Similan Island Marine National Park off the southern coast of Thailand. However, you must first go to Phuket by yourself. The travel agency will arrange a transfer to Thap Lamu Pier to start an island hopping and diving trip in the waters of the national park: Similan Island - Koh Bon - Koh Tachai - Richelieu Rock. You need to have diving experience to participate in a boat diving trip, and it is best to bring your own diving equipment and rent oxygen tanks on site. If you have no equipment and rent them on site, it will cost a lot of money. In addition to the cost of three days and two nights on board, an additional entrance fee is required to enter Similan Island Marine National Park for diving. Basically the itinerary is diving, eating, sleeping, and continuous circulation. Get up early in the morning and dive first, then have breakfast. In addition to the beautiful underwater world, watching the sunset on a boat is also a very romantic thing. Night diving is also very interesting. We will dive about 3-4 times a day. There will be instructors accompanying us and taking photos throughout the whole process, which is quite safe. The accommodation space on the boat is not large, but the beds are much more comfortable to sleep on. It is simple, clean and comfortable. The food is mostly Thai cuisine and buffet. On the day we planned to see the Giant Buddha, we first visited the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. According to some guides, you can take a boat from here to see the Buddha. After trying it ourselves, here's what we found: there are many boat piers at the market. The regular boats cost 100 baht per person, but note that these boats do not pass by the Buddha; they only stop at places like orchid gardens and take about 1.5 hours round trip. To see the Buddha, you need to cross the bridge to the opposite side and take a boat that costs around 2000 baht. Finding the regular boat a waste of time and the Buddha boat too expensive, we decided to take a taxi to the alley with the Buddha (location ①). We strolled to the riverside and took a boat, which was a very chill and worthwhile experience! In the afternoon, the sunlight made the Buddha glow, creating a surreal and breathtaking sight. 📸 Here are our recommended photo spots: ✅ The Buddha in the alley (can be directly located by taxi) 📍862-896 Soi Thoet Thai 26, near Sam Sing Kung Shrine, with a small supermarket nearby for snacks and drinks. ✅ The Buddha at Wat Paknam by the water 📍796 Soi Thoet Thai 26, where you'll meet many fellow travelers. ✅ Take a small boat to see the Buddha 📍Bangkok Yai. When taking photos by the water, an old Thai man might approach you offering a boat ride. You might think he's a scammer, but don't hesitate to take the ride; it's genuinely great! 🗺️ Note: The map is on the last image. 🚢 About the route: The boat circles the water twice, taking about 28-30 minutes, passing by the Buddha, a reclining Buddha, and another shorter Buddha. There are also large lizards in the water, which is really cool! The sunset and breeze make it a moment to fall in love with Bangkok. 💰 About the price: The old man charges 300 baht per person, but you should bargain.
