In Hanja, Suwon means “the origin of water.” Suwon is the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do, 48 km south of Seoul. There were really only two things to see there: the Korean Folk Village and a “faithfully restored fortress of Hwaseong” as described in the Lonely Planet. The fortress of Hwaseong was built between 1794 and 1796 during the reign of King Jeongjo of the famous Joseon Dynasty that I kept hearing about in the palaces of Seoul. It was also an effort to make Suwon the second capital city. There are four main gates, of which the Paldalmun was the most famous and a designated national treasure. It almost felt like seeing the fortress of Xi’an, an ancient capital in China. Today Starfield has opened a new location in Suwon and the investment is epic than the previous one. Not only does it have a library area for you to read, relax & enjoy the magnificent architecture, but it also has many options for surrounding cafe spaces. In addition, Starfield in Suwon is also a complex commercial center with many shops and famous brands here. Once you've decided to come here, it often takes more than half a day to wander around and explore all the corners of Starfield Suwon. From Seoul station to here can be called a little far. But spent the effort to come here, I think it's worth it because of the wonderful experience at Starfield Suwon.

#Memories of a trip abroad The highlight of Starfield Suwon is the Star Garden Library, located from the 4th to 7th floors. There is a Star Garden Library at COEX Mall in Seoul, but I definitely preferred the one in Suwon, which uses natural light and an open atrium to create a sense of unity between the library and the surrounding shops. #OverseasGourmet2024 I always gave up on the LONDON BAGEL MUSEUM because it was so popular in Seoul. There is also a branch at Starfield Suwon. I checked in around 11:00 and was able to enter at 12:00, so it was still popular in Suwon. ・ The first thing that caught my eye was the horse-themed interior and goods that make it the LONDON BAGEL MUSEUM, rather than the bagels.
