A new trending tourist attraction for history, archaeology, and photography tourists, or whatever type, Sri Thep Historical Park or Sri Thep Ancient City is located in Sri Thep District, Phetchabun Province.
Sri Thep Historical Park is one of Thailand's historical parks. It is an important source of civilization because it is an area with traces of evidence reflecting the continuous settlement of humans since the prehistoric Dvaravati and Khmer cultures, including a period of prosperity of more than 800 years before being abandoned due to serious epidemics or drought problems.
From the excavation of important evidence, this ancient city has interacted between the original communities in the Dvaravati culture and Indian culture since the 10th Buddhist century. The acceptance of Brahmanism and Buddhism, both Theravada and Mahayana, since around the 11th-12th Buddhist century is the permanent influence of Buddhism, both Theravada, Mahayana, and Brahmanism. It is pleasing for Thailand that UNESCO The ancient city of Si Thep has been announced as a new cultural world heritage site and the 7th world heritage site in Thailand. Its official name is The Ancient Town of Si Thep and its Associated Dvaravati Monuments.
Inside the ancient city of Si Thep, there are many important ancient sites, such as the Shrine of Lord Si Thep, Prang Si Thep, Sa Kaeo Sa Khwan, Khao Khlang Nai, Khao Khlang Nok, Prang Song Phi Nong, and the archaeological excavation site.
Admission fee: Thais 20 baht, foreigners 100 baht, senior citizens and children under 18 years old are free (for Thais only). There is a free tram service.
