This trip was a perfect mix of structured travel and free exploration. Having a chartered bus on Day 1 made things incredibly smooth, especially with a group of 19. Day 2 was free & easy, allowing everyone to explore at their own pace. Day 1: TeamLab Planets – Odaiba – Sensoji (With a Chartered Bus!) 🚐 Morning: Tsukiji Outer Market Our first stop was Tsukiji Outer Market for some fresh seafood and local snacks. Since we had a big group, we split up and agreed to meet back in an hour. Must-try picks: tuna sashimi, grilled scallops, tamagoyaki (sweet omelet), and matcha ice cream. 💡 Tip: Arrive before noon to avoid the biggest crowds! 🎨 Afternoon: TeamLab Planets Next, we headed to TeamLab Planets, an immersive digital art museum. Walking barefoot through water-filled rooms and interactive light displays was such a unique experience! The infinity room with hanging lights was absolutely mesmerizing. 💡 Tip: Book tickets in advance! Slots fill up fast. 🌉 Midday: Odaiba From TeamLab, we continued to Odaiba. Thanks to our bus, we didn’t have to deal with public transport. We dropped by to snap photo with the real size Gundam. ⛩️ Evening: Sensoji Temple Our final stop was Sensoji Temple. The bus dropped us off close by, so we didn’t have to walk too far. We strolled through Nakamise Street, grabbed some street snacks, and enjoyed the peaceful temple atmosphere. By sunset, the temple lights made everything feel magical. 🌙 End of Day 1: We were all exhausted but happy! Having a bus made the whole day stress-free. Day 2: Free & Easy – Ueno, Akihabara & Shibuya Since Day 2 was free & easy, everyone could do their own thing. Here’s how I spent mine: 🌳 Morning: Ueno – Took a relaxing walk in Ueno Park, then browsed street food and cheap shopping at Ameyoko Street. 🎮 Afternoon: Akihabara – Explored anime stores and Big Camera. 🌆 Evening: Shibuya – Walked through Shibuya Scramble Crossing, visited Shibuya Sky for the best city view, and ended the night with a smooth cup of Blue Bottle Coffee & a big bowl of Ichiran Ramen. My Tips for a Smooth Trip ✔ Chartered bus is totally worth it – Makes traveling easy, especially with a big group. ✔ Use Google Maps – Essential for navigating Tokyo’s trains on free & easy days. ✔ Have a group meeting point – If splitting up, agree on a place & time to regroup. ✔ Wear comfy shoes – Seriously, Tokyo involves A LOT of walking. ✔ Bring cash – Tsukiji Market and smaller shops still prefer cash. ✔ Pack a power bank – You’ll need it for maps, photos, and coordinating with the group.
