The forest cafe, surrounded by green trees and wooden houses, was a delightful surprise. How can I not fall in love with this spring mountain getaway? It's the perfect escape from work. I've been so busy lately that I desperately needed some fresh air. Even on a cloudy day, a hike in the spring mountains with friends is a great way to de-stress. ⛰️ Dujiangyan Shangyuan Ancient Path Navigate to Dujiangyan Two Rivers Impression. Park and walk straight ahead; the trailhead is on your right. It's an 8 km easy hike with beautiful scenery, perfect for a relaxing climb and absorbing the natural aura! 🛖 Qingcheng Mountain Wild Island Homestay The wooden houses are very comfortable and come with private hot springs. There are only 4–5 houses. Many people come just for coffee in the afternoon, which can affect the experience for overnight guests. The homestay doesn't currently offer meals or other activities.

The hotel's natural scenery is great, surrounded by greenery. The room faces Mount Qingcheng! It snowed a few days ago and there is still snow on the mountain top. We really had a lovely time at the mountain especially seeing and walking through the beautiful nature. We didn't hike all the way to the top of the mountain because we weren't properly clothed and equipped. You will see the best panoramic stunning view of the surrounding forest Please be aware that there are some steep stairs so make sure that you are well equipped with a good pair of boots or shoes. You can also take the cable car to cut the hiking short. Entrance fee: 80 Cable car fee: 60 (roundtrip) . Dujiangyan is a small city next to Chengdu (1h drive) and we stayed at some local hotel just for a night. Qingcheng mt is nearby, 20min by taxi and entrance to a big park is free. You can use sightseeing bus to entrance, but it's just a 25min walk to ticket office. Save some money. To visit all temples and pagoda on top, price is 80rmb. And then climbing starts...stairs, stairs and more stairs. Highly recommend Cable car return ticket (60rmb). Saving you around 2km of climbing. Plenty of small fast food and beverage stores, but pricey. Coke is 10rmb, some pies go to 25rmb. So better get some snacks and water before. On the top is amazing view on mountains, city and lake. Summer season isn't best option cuz of noisy cicadas every step of the way. Just above the Town of Dujiangyan is Qingcheng mountain. There are touristy hiking routes up the front with temples, pagodas and viewpoints. While the back of the mountain offers less crowded hiking and longer routes. To get there it's easy enough to take a taxi from Chengdu.

Very good vacation. Stayed at the Qingyuan Qingcheng Hotel which was only 10 mins walk to the base of the mountain. A lot of convenience for those who like to take short cuts!! Exploring the Taoist culture on Qingcheng Mountain is considered as the birthplace of Taoism and one of the most important Taoist centers in China. It can be a long hike up to the top but you pass by beautiful lakes, waterfalls and plenty of nature. For the physically less active there is also a chance to pay for a cable car ride but if you have the ability to walk, I highly recommend it. Looking for a weekend escape in the nature? Qingcheng Mountain in Dujiangyan, Chengdu can be the prefect place to rest your mind, soul and body.
