Portmeirion Village, Wales
#summervacay
Portmeirion feels like stepping into a sun-soaked Italian village—making it a totally unique #summervacay destination right in Wales. Designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, it’s a colorful architectural fantasy nestled between woodland and sea. In summer, the vibrant buildings glow under blue skies and gardens burst with exotic blooms. There are shops, cafés, and coastal paths to explore, and even luxury stays on-site if you want to extend the magic. Famous for its role in The Prisoner TV series, it’s also a cultural curiosity. It’s whimsical, walkable, and totally Instagrammable.
Soul soothing destination.
Iconic travel destinations with very welcoming people. I loved the food and service was top notch. Have visited two times now because the experience helps soothe my soul. Make sure to try every restaurant because there are hidden gems within the place. There are a lot of amenities and everything is reasonably priced. Excellent place to visit with both friends and families.
🇬🇧 Portmeirion, a fairytale resort town in Wales
#Overseas travel
This beautiful village in Wales, UK, looks like it came straight out of a picture book, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Wales these days!
📍 Portmeirion Village
Portmeirion Village is a privately owned resort and garden. As you walk around the village, you will be amazed by the beautiful scenery all around you. It is a healing spot that captivates the hearts of travelers with its fairytale-like buildings and Mediterranean colors.
⛱️ Photo spots & tips
🔹 The entrance fee is around 17 pounds. I recommend looking at the village map first and leisurely exploring every nook and cranny. There are great photo spots hidden everywhere!
🔹 If you walk along the coastal path along the edge of the village, you will see the beautiful scenery of the Dwyryd Estuary. Afterwards, you will reach the subtropical forest called ‘The Gwyllt’. Don’t miss the lake full of water lilies!
🔹 When you're hungry, try a warm toast at Caffi No 6 or a homemade ice cream at Caffi'r Angel. Also, be sure to try Welsh specialties like cheese risotto or Marmite cheese cauliflower!
🔹 Saracens Head is an old-style pub & hotel with a great atmosphere, a great location, and a wide range of beers, wines, and whiskies. A leisurely drink while on vacation is a must!
🔹 Portmeirion is a man-made village, but the colorful buildings and European-style alleyways make it a photogenic spot!
The atmosphere changes greatly depending on the weather, so if you visit on a clear day, you'll feel like you've stepped into a fairy tale.
