2026 Peekskill Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in July)

Peekskill hike might be the best place to hike within 1 hour of NYC. The views were actually amazing and all the paths were well organized. We were aboe to wander off into the beaten path a bit which I recommend if you have the proper boots ( a ton of marsh land). Right near the entrance there is a beautiful lake with BBQS and tables to enjoy with your family. My dog really loved the views and there were a ton of shallow spots to bring him into the water. I recommend that you take the Blue and Yellow path to the top of the mountain and then the purple path for the best view. bring lots if water and snacks because we were out for a good 3 hours before we got back.
