All Moments About Napier
New Zealand/Napier, 1-day self-driving tour
#2月好去处2025 Rent a car and go to Mapa Park. On the way to the park, we visited the winery, which was full of vineyards and had four types of wine tasting for only NZD 15. We also passed an apple orchard on the way and saw many plump apples. Finally, we arrived at the park. The panoramic unobstructed view was really beautiful and worth a visit, but because it is left-hand drive, you have to get used to it first.

Pania of the Reef Statue
#australiatrip
The Pania of the Reef statue is one of Napier’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see while exploring the city. Located on Marine Parade, the statue represents a Māori legend about Pania, a sea maiden. While the statue itself is small, it’s beautifully crafted and holds significant cultural meaning. The surrounding area is picturesque, with gardens and coastal views adding to the experience. It’s a great spot to take photos and learn a little about local mythology. As a traveler, I appreciated how the statue connects Napier’s natural beauty with its rich Māori heritage.

Relax at the Napier Beaches
#newzealandtrip
Napier’s beaches are the perfect place to unwind, especially after a busy day of sightseeing. I spent a relaxing afternoon at Marine Parade Beach, which is calm and family-friendly with plenty of space to spread out. The water was inviting, and the surrounding gardens and boardwalks made it easy to enjoy a peaceful walk along the coast. For something quieter, Ocean Beach is just a short drive away, offering a more laid-back vibe. Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the view, Napier’s beaches provide a serene escape with plenty of natural beauty.

Visit the National Aquarium of New Zealand
#newzealandtrip
The National Aquarium of New Zealand in Napier is an absolute treat for anyone interested in marine life. Located on the waterfront, it’s home to a wide variety of sea creatures, from native New Zealand species to exotic fish and reptiles. I particularly enjoyed the underwater tunnel, where you’re surrounded by large fish, sharks, and rays. The exhibits are educational and well-curated, making it a great spot for families or anyone interested in learning more about the ocean. The location is perfect for a day out, and it’s both fun and informative.

Explore Art Deco Architecture
#newzealandtrip
Napier’s Art Deco architecture is one of the city’s greatest charms. After the 1931 earthquake, Napier was rebuilt in this distinctive style, and walking around the city feels like stepping back in time. I joined a guided Art Deco tour, which helped me understand the unique design and history behind the buildings. The pastel-colored façades and geometric patterns are stunning, and it’s easy to see why Napier is considered the Art Deco capital of the world. Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast or just appreciate beautiful buildings, this is a must-do in Napier.
