This hidden gem is actually hiding behind the Daily OtAk otak shop and it's a really nice place for the photo. Gentle reminders don't drive in , you can park outside in front of the daily otak otak. Boss has told us that this place before turning into a photo place actually is a manufacturer of otak otak, previously they had a lot of staff grilling otak otak and now they have improved it. Now they are using machines and just one staff member is doing this. The owners are 70+ years old Chinese couple, they serves simple traditional Malaysian breakfast like; Kaya + butter toast(charcoal toasted), Soft-boilded eggs, ready packed Nasi Lemak and of course the nice coffee! While the other stall in the kopitiam sells Beef & Chicken Satay, Lontong and Mee Rebus, that is run by a Malay family. Great experience in Muo Boutique Hotel. This hotel is very unique, clean and happy place to stay. The staff especially the receptionist is very kind, helpful and efficient. A historical museum with loads of information located in a refurbish colonial building. The museum located next to Sg Muar, within Muar district - an hour drive or 54km away from Muar town. The museum has become a referance spot for local historical enthusiast. The existing building was used to be a police post, burnt down in year 1950. The 2 story museum consists of information board about the building, a reenacted melodrama of the typical police post in the old days, its barrack and family living room reminds us of the old good day. The museum also act as a memorial to those affected by the incident happened. The decor of a typical living room of Malaysia family in the 70's will caught your eye as the furniture was kind of not in existance anymore. Free to enter, come during durian session and can enjoy durians along the way enroute to the museum, and with a stop at the cendol stall - it should complete your brief getaway. #johor #muar

Muar Glutton Street is a 100 metre stretch along Jalan Haji Abu with Jalan Meriam at the northern end and Jalan Ali in the south. (Hence, it is also referred to as Food Street Jalan Haji Abu.) There are some two dozen food stalls at Muar Glutton Street. They open for business at different times of the day and have different off days. Let's take a walk with me down Jalan Haji Abu. (The street is open to cars and motorbikes, so do look out.)

The kopitiam have diverse numbers of fusion traditional Chinese + Nyonya delights, perfect seasoning with spices to whet your appetites. A few years ago, upgrading and landscaping of the back alley was prevailing in Malaysia, some of the gloomy back alleys have been transformed to tourist attractions, the Muar Cultural Walk is one of them. The wall of buildings which beautifully painted so that visitors could re-live the history, tradition & culture, nature & environment, and understand the art value of the paintings. I totally recommend this restaurant. The price is affordable and the food is super delicious. quite cozy n quiet as well. Its has several restaurants and a hotel around the cafe, but i do recommend to go to dis restaurant instead since the other restaurant only hv common menu. Beans.Factory is a dessert house located in Jalan Perniagaan Bakri 1, Taman Pusat Perniagaan Bakri, Muar, Johor. The dessert house featuring Tau Fu Fah(soya beancurd) with Taro ball & paste, Red bean, Peach gum, Black pearl or Fresh mango. Large serving size and freshly made soya desserts serves with brown sugar or ginger syrup. They have plenty of choices and able to customize the ingredients. RM20 per person (adult rate) for a 30 minute boat ride is super worth it. They covered most of the Muar River, and it’s nice to pass historical sites like the Sultan Ibrahim Mosque, and also the two Muar bridges; one leading to Tanjung Agas and the other leading to Muar Town. What’s lovely about the cruise is that it’s also educational at the same time because there’s an audio recording describing important landmarks that passengers will see along the way. Pretty ideal for parents with children old enough to appreciate history, or even school trips for students. There will also be a group of photographers who will take your picture with a sign that says “Muar Cruise,” and it’s up to your whether you want to purchase it or not. The photo quality is good, and the frame is magnetic which makes it excellent as a memorable souvenir to put on your fridge. It’s a bit costly though - RM40. Overall, really enjoyed the cruise. Would recommend for first timers visiting Muar and Tanjung Emas. Operating hours: 9:30am-12:30pm and 2:30pm-5:30pm, on Friday, weekends and public holidays.

Muo Resort is located at Lorong Haji Adnan, Kampung Parit Raja Darat, Muar, Johor. It's a hidden gem in the Muar town center. The resort atmosphere is homey, relaxing and interesting, there has fairly large open space with beautiful greenary & landscape, plus a lovely mini zoo (Deers, goats, rabbits, cats, ducks and geese) within. They provides bicycles and some activities for guests too. The staffs of the resort are friendly, room has nice decor, comfy and with excellent cleanliness, and the price was affordable. Overall, really enjoyed the vibes & environments of this resort, such a great staycation in Muar. Highly recommended for family with kids.

This place is a must go especially if you are someone who loves 2 things, fish and otah! Quan Wei Reataurant is located at Jalan Abdul Rahman, No 6, Jalan Perdana 12, Taman Junid Perdana. You will see many good reviews of this restaurant, and they were here even before the covid tines. They have really good Muar otah, fresh fish where you have to try with their assam, that's thier signature hit! And what's most important is the friendly Muar people here, where they treat customers as family with good servicing attitude. The reataurant itself is also clean and well mantained. Definitely a must stop spot if you are heading to/from melaka.

saikee 434 muar coffee is a must place to visit if you go to muar town. it's a oldest coffee shop. interior design and ambience very fascinated. once u walked through the door..the coffee aroma so distinctive. Masjid sultan ismail is the biggest mosque in muar Johor. it is located in tanjung agas across the muar River from Muar town. Masjid Sultan Ismail is often called the Second Muar Jamek Mosque, because it is built in the same style as masjid jamek sultan ibrahim in Muar town. You can see another mosque opposite muar River.. It is a Chinese restaurant which is quite popular in Muar (Johor) and they serve a lot of Thai style dishes. The restaurant owner learnt how to cook Thai food from an actual Thai cook in Thailand and he brought it back to Muar.

For me, i would like to say this place is good to hangout and chitchat especially those friends that you havent see for a long time. The price for the beverage is very affordable and taste super good. i dont recommend the food since it just only common food that you can get at any restaurant with cheaper price.
