3 days and over 50000 steps was all it took to experience one of the most spectacular views I have seen. Nestled in the south-west corner of New Zealand's South Island is a not-so hidden gem. We have visited Milford Sound before by car (the homer tunnel is an amazing example of engineering and worth a visit as well) but for this trip in 2015 we decided to hike in to the sound. Led by the wonderfull team at Holyford Wilderness Experience this was a trip like no other. We were well taken care of with the meals provided as outstanding as the scenery we took in. The lodges were comfortable and it was nice to have hot running water for showers.
